Beach Chairs For Sale Waikiki

Will be Oahu for 10 days. I would like to get all my needed beach gear the first day such as beach chair and umbrella. Any suggestion where I should buy them? Where are you staying? Why don't you rent them? Are you planning to ship them home? We thought about that to. But buying chairs and traveling sounds like kinda a bad mixture. We were thinking of renting but as of right now we don't know how much it would be. Where on the island are you guys staying? You can purchase them at Walmart. You can rent chairs, umbrella's etc. at Snorkel Bob's for a reasonable price. Not too far from Waikiki. You can also rent them beach side, but that's expensive. You may find some at one of the ABC stores, Wal-Mart or at Longs Drugstores. If the OP meant to purchase chair(s) and umbrella, for a reasonable price, then yes, I'd go for it. Renting at the beach is expensive, especially if you plan to go to the beach a bunch of times during your stay. The thing I DO like about the umbrellas at the beach rental stands, is that they are heavy duty and they will make sure the post(stem) is pounded down into the sand.

You can rent just the umbrella if you want. At least I know they do at the rental place in front of the Waikiki Outrigger. Food pantry had chairs for $22.99, none at the abc. Aloha beach services rents for $5/day I just have this vision of millions of coolers, beach chairs and umbrellas purchased in Hawaii and then dumped there for the hotels, condos or whomever to deal with. Do they end up in the land-fill? We didn't rent an umbrella, but did rent two beach chairs at Snorkel Bob's for a total of $25.00 (for the entire week). We are staying around Waikiki but will be going to many beaches away from Waikiki so wanted to know what we should do? If you buy them and don't want to lug them back home (I wouldn't) just find another family to pass them on to... we always do this with our floats (we rent umbrella and chairs from hotel). There is ALWAYS someone just arriving :) The Snorkel Bob deal that SCMike mentions sounds great! Another Pearl Harbor Question

Anyone knows where to find a resort/hotel in Waikiki that would allow non-guest to rent their umbrella and towels? There's independent vendors set up right on the beach that do this. Snorkel Bob's is one of them (see their website). But there's a number around.

These aren't as a non-guest at a resort/hotel (which would be more expensive if it was available) rather just guys who that's what they do - rent snorkel gear, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, etc. $5 for the chair but the clip you with $20 for an umbrella, located next to Dukes thanks for the replies! I am actually looking for 'private' beaches in the Waikiki, similar to Ko'olina resort where they provide you everything including towels even if you're not staying at that hotel. More like resort day pass, if anyone familiar with this. The beach at Waikiki is all public space. None of the hotels have a 'private' beach. Suze, yes thanks I'm aware of that, I meant by quoting private like Koolina beach that won't allow you have a tent or bbq-ing. I ended up spending one morning calling some of the nicer beachfront resorts around Waikiki and very pleased to find out that Sheraton rents out beach chairs and umbrella to non-guests for decent price, but unfortunately towels are not included.

>>>I ended up spending one morning calling some of the nicer beachfront resorts around Waikiki and very pleased to find out that Sheraton rents out beach chairs and umbrella to non-guests for decent price<<< Given that the Sheraton doesn't have a beach, I find that really interesting. I only mentioned it because people new to Hawaii often don't realize this. But I see you are from Honolulu. Because in many resort destinations (like the Caribbean or Mexico) there are beach setups (loungers, umbrellas or palapas, drinks service, etc.) right on the sand, down to the water's edge. Not so in Waikiki. Wat a minute...you're from Honolulu and don't know anything about Waikiki?? Right in front of the Hyatt, see photo of yellow umbrella's, there is some rental group on the beach where they rent lounges or beach chairs, umbrella's, etc. Can't miss where they are located, as they have a canopy set up. The Hyatt has a lunch stand set up on the sand, called Hyatt on the Beach, where anyone can get drinks, or grilled mahi mahi, chicken sandwiches, etc.

Suze yes that's so true... I'm from Miami and I could just go to any beach front hotel and rent their lounger and umbrella, including the towels! And you can order food and beverages from the establishment because, the beaches, even not private per se, were supervised by security and attendants from said hotels. I am not sure how it goes with Sheraton, according to their pooldesk there is a beach right in the property. I am going tomorrow morning and will update.
