This is a cute quaint older resort that would really benefit from some tlc by the owners. Great location & cute little green space. New bed linens & beach towels would help-these are threadbare. Ac unit on wall looked like a fire hazard-wires pulled out & half wrapped w electrical tape. It did cool well though. Floor lamp shade had burn marks on it from bulbs touching-not safe! Not even a lamp on the nightstand. Lastly, it took 5-10 min for hot water in shower. Shower handle trim plate had sharp cut edges & was not secure to the wall. Oh, and the outside lights were not working the 2 nights we were there. This is not safe either. Owners just need to work some bugs out & they'd have a great lil place that folks would come back to time & again!The stay was quite disappointing. Positives - room was clean and newly renovated. The staff was friendly. The distance to the beach was very close. Negatives - FAQ on hotel website said $18 weekly umbrella rental and free chairs and beach towels.
Actual - $22 per day for umbrella and 2 chairs from rental service on beach. Walls so thin we could hear next door pull chair out from table to sit down. Holding conversation and children laughing until 3:30 am is not what I want to hear all night trying to sleep. No bottled water as stated on website Took almost ten minutes in morning for shower water to become more than lukewarm. Overall - really disappointed. Room was intended for beach access, sleeping and clean up. 1 out of 3 is bad!My hubby and I wanted a quick getaway, we saw this resort and thought it would be an OK experience, we were ABSOLUTELY WRONG, it was a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!! The pictures we had seen were of non updated rooms and would be doable, BUT the rooms were modern, updated, cozy and very comfortable. We loved how quaint the whole facility was, extremely nice receptionists and they made you feel welcomed. The beach was so close, max 3 min walk. I would advise you to bring your own chairs and umbrellas for the beach, renting them is kinda pricey but that had NO reflection on Captiva Beach Resort.
The price of the resort was VERY reasonable as well, we've already looked into booking multiple rooms for our next visit, and we will bring our parents!We were very unhappy with our room. It was very run down and outdated. Shower had mold in it. There was roaches and they had to come spray. We were very disappointed in the money we spent. All units feature an open floor plan with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as unique staggered balconies giving each unit a view of the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding landscape. Fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar opens to a spacious dining and living room area. The master bedroom boasts two double closets and a master bathroom. The guest bedroom has a roomy double closet and a second bathroom across the hallway. Weekly maid and linen service is provided for guests staying longer than two weeks. Meal prep is a delight on the brand new gas cooktop and double range oven in the fully-equipped kitchen. Dishwasher is ready for your vacation meal cleanup. The paneled new refrigerator will hold all of the drinks you might need for a day on the beach. The guest room contains 2 twin beds which can be converted prior to your arrival to a second king, if you prefer. With two full bathrooms, the house makes for a quiet get-away for two couples or a small family with two older children.
The open floor plan makes for easy conversation and the filtered light from every room makes the house feel welcoming and friendly. Two full baths and plenty of towels are available for your use. The main bath contains a tub/shower combination and the master, a shower. Extra rooms with seating makes it easy for each person to have their own quiet private time, or gather together in the spacious living room with ample seating and TV. Each room has a pretty view of tranquility and greenery. Two are screened and outside. One is inside and fully air-conditioned. Plenty of space to choose. One well-behaved dog is welcome, who will feel right at home in the house and in the yard. New washer and dryer in the house make for light packing and more relaxing time. No need to go off site. Covered parking for one car, and a graveled circular driveway gives room for additional parking. Beach chairs and towels are available in the house for your lounging by one of the best beaches in the world.
