We are flying into Panama City and staying in Seacrest but don't mind driving 30-45 minutes in order to get to great places. There are five of us - four adults and one 2 1/2 year old boy. I need advice on the following: Does anyone have a good beach chair rental company they recommend?
Can you rent hammocks? Are there places to shop for food and supplies (grocery stores, Target, etc) near Seacrest? Great places to eat what would be good for a 2 1/2 year old? Any recommended massage providers that would come to our vacation rental? Any must dos for little kids? There is a beach chair rental service right on the beach at the bottom of the stairs by the beach access for Seacrest. It's $20 per day for two wood/fabric chairs and an umbrella. They set it all up for you and take it down. Not sure, and not sure where you would put a hammock. Most of the houses in Seacrest have chairs on their porches, and the beach chairs from the rental company are loungers. There is a great Publix grocery store about 10 minutes away down toward Panama City. There is another one a little farther (20 minutes) in Watercolor. I know there is a Target somewhere, or a Walmart, but you'd have to look on their web site to find the exact locaiton. All of the restaurants, with the exception of maybe the fancy one in Rosemary Beach (Paradis?) are good for kids.
There is Spicy Noodle, which is right near. If you Google restaurants on 30A, you will find a whole bunch. George's at Alys Beach is good, as are all of the restaurants in Rosemary (which is a 5 minute walk from Seacrest). Also, if you get up early and get there by 6:30, you can get fantastic donuts at the donut truck (Charlie's Donuts, I think) that parks right by the main part of Alys Beach (walk or bike from Seacrest). I don't know about massage providers who will come to your rental, but there is a nice spa in Rosemary, where I have had great massages. I think it is called Vivo. It is right on the main square in Rosemary by the bike rental place on the corner. Your homeowner may be able to recommend a massage provider that would come to your home. For little kids, there are activities at Alys Beach and Rosemary (go to their web sites). There is also a water park in Panama City. But, really, the beach and the pool provide a lot of entertainment for the little ones. We started going there when our son was about the age of your child.
We have been going there for the past 5 years and it is just a wonderful family vacation. We have had no bad experiences anywhere we have gone there with our child (as far as restaurants), and the whole place is just so relaxing. Q: Are golf carts, low speed vehicles or all terrain vehicles allowed in Rosemary Beach? A: Effective March 1, 2014, the Rosemary Beach Property Owners Association placed a ban on all golf carts, all-terrain vehicles (ATV’s), low speed vehicles (LSV’s), motor scooters or similar off street vehicles with in the community. Q: What is an alternating tread staircase? A: Where there is insufficient space for a full run length of normal stairs, alternating tread staircase(s) may be used. The treads are designed such that they alternate between treads for each foot: one step is wide on the left side; the next step is wide on the right side. A: Nearly all properties on the Rosemary Beach Cottage Rental Program have a washer/dryer available for their guests to use (except the Pensione). A: Bamboo Bicycle Company accepts reservations and hosts the largest inventory on 30A. Q: How do I reserve beach chairs/umbrellas? A: RB POA Beach Service provides Rosemary Beach guests with this amenity. You can do so by calling 850.231.1860. You will need to provide your property’s individual Beach Access Code, a credit card number and the name or location of your cottage, as well as the walk over in front of which you would like your chairs to be set up each day. Q: How do I check-in if I arrive after office hours? A: The Late Arrival box is located to the left of the Cottage Rental office door. Please call the after hours phone number (850.278.2032) if you need the code. Inside the box will hold your welcome packet, parking pass, map, and keys to your property. You will need to come to the office the next day to finish with your check in procedures. Please contact the front desk prior to close of business to let us know your late arrival plans. Can I bring it on the beach? A: Rosemary Beach Cottage Rental Company does have several pet-friendly homes. A non-refundable pet deposit is required in addition to the reservation. (1-10lbs $100, 11-25lbs $150, 26-40lbs $200, $250 40lbs-up) Pets are prohibited in homes that are not designated as “pet-friendly”. Walton County does not allow pets on the beach without a permit. In order to obtain a permit, you must be a Walton County resident. Q: If the weather is predicted to be bad during my stay, will I receive a refund? A: Refunds are not given due to inclement weather unless a mandatory evacuation is issued by the National Weather Service. In the event of a mandatory evacuation, only the unused portion of your stay will be refunded. No refunds will be issued for voluntary evacuations. A: The remaining portion of the balance is due upon check-in. Q: What is the cancellation policy? A: Should the need to cancel arise outside of 30 days prior to your arrival for any reason, you will forfeit 10% of your deposit plus the $79 reservation fee. If a cancellation occurs within 30 days of your arrival date, for any reason, the entire deposit will be non-refundable and non-transferable. If you shorten the length of your stay within 30 days of your arrival date, you will be charged 50% of the rate of the cancelled nights. For reservations made within 30 days of your arrival date, cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours after making the reservation, otherwise the 50% deposit will be forfeited. Any change in accommodation, length or date of stay will be subject to the cancellation policy above. No refunds will be given for late arrivals or early departures.
