Shore Beach Service rents umbrellas, chairs, body boards, kayaks, aqua cycles, fun cycles and sailboats on the beaches of Hilton Head Island. We are the only company on the island that sets up the equipment for you daily. We can be found at numerous rental locations up & down the beach (see list below). In addition, Shore Beach Service can set up equipment anywhere else along the beach upon request (we call these OFFSITE RENTALS). Rates are higher for offsites. If you do not see your beach location listed below, you are likely an offsite rental. Rental Rates & Hours Please check list below to see if you are at a rental location or offsite location. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, personal checks or traveler's checks. Room charges are accepted at some locations. Our season for beach rentals generally begins the last week in March and ends in late October, weather permitting. We are open 7 days a week during our beach season from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Offsite rentals are set up by 9:30 am and taken down at 5:00 pm.
Reservations are accepted by phone anytime before the first day of the rental. It is particularly important to make a reservation for offsite rentals, as there are limited quantities of the equipment available. Requests made for offsites after 11:00 am generally cannot be set up until the next day. To rent equipment at one of the rental locations (listed below), you can also just check in with a member of our staff on the beach at that location anytime from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Yeah, that's my question, too. We're looking for a company that will provide a couple of those nice big comfy padded chaise lounge chairs and a large umbrella. You give 'em the address and they deliver (and set it up) in front of your rental early in the day and haul it off at dusk. If anybody's got some insight on a company that does this, please clue us in. I'm interested in the price for a whole week. Are you renting a private unit or staying in a timeshare? Many of the timeshares have rentals available on site, Sometimes unit owners also supply beach chairs etc for your use.
You can also purchase inexpensive beach chairs when you arrive at WalMart. There are also rental companies that will deliver the chairs, umbrellas etc to your unit such as Vacation Comfort Rentals which we have rented bikes from and their website also shows beach equipment rentals.. Hope this helps you. We are currently in Hilton Head and just rented from Comfy Rentals. It is $50 for two lounge chairs and an umbrella for the entire week. They have free delivery and pickup. The beach patrol charges $30 for the first day and $18 for each day thereafter for 2 chairs and an umbrella! But you don't have to set up everyday. We will be renting a VRBO condo in Sea Pines,and we will not be going to the beach everyday-only 1 or 2 days. I know the daily umbrella rentals are high. I don't think I want to buy my own umbrella and drag it there on the SeaPines trolley.I will have to think about that! Ooops-I meant $30 a day-still kinda high if I do it for 2 days. I would check with the owner to see if they supply beach chairs etc with the unit, many unit owners are starting to do that.
There was a thread on this forum over the winter about things people would like in rental units and this was one of the things mentioned by the renters and the unit owners. this is a great company to work with. not sure of pricing. Okay, just to clarify... The ocean-front property we are renting (@ Sea Pines) does NOT provide beach chairs or umbrellas. And the kind of service in which I'm interested isn't the deal where a company just drops off some chairs and an umbrella at the address and then picks 'em up again at the end of the week. I'm looking for a service where they haul a couple of nice padded chaise lounge chairs and a large umbrella to the beach in front of the property every day and even drill the umbrella pole down into the sand for you. In other words, folks, I'm looking to avoid any of the hassles involved in dragging stuff back and forth, trying to get the umbrella secured, etc. and will be glad to pay for this! "pgshorty" mentioned something about "the beach patrol," which supposedly charges by the day--and it sounded sort of like this might be what I'm after, with the reference to "you don't have to set up everyday."
Can anyone confirm this? Is the "Beach Patrol" a private company? Or do you guys know of another service like the one I'm looking for? The Beach Patrol -aka- the lifeguards drill a hole for your umbrella and set-up the chairs everyday. You just walk to the beach and pay them for the day, or the week. Once paid for, your umbrella and chairs will be ready for you and will have you name clipped on to the back of the chairs. I believe they are kept up until 5-6PM each day..
