Beach Chair Rental Miramar Beach

I am staying in a condo just east of the Whale's Tail restaurant and unless I get to the beach at 6:30 am, the rental guys take every inch of beach front with their chairs and umbrellas for a quarter mile. I'm 63 and can't walk that far. I think that stinks and want to know who owns/runs this operation on Destin's public beaches. OK, from my balcony I just counted 107 rental umbrellas in a row. Also, we rented one the other day and for 2 chairs and one umbrella it cost us $40! That part of the beach is owned by Seascape - it is up to them to allow the chair guys on the property - they get a portion of the rental proceeds. Destin has no control over this - in fact area is in Miramar Beach/ One destination mentioned in this post There is a special rule that applies for those setting up beach chairs to rent. I beleive it has something to do with a 10 foot distance from the point of high tide to where the chair rows can start. We typicaly put our chairs right at the high tide point with no compaints but sometimes a dirty look

Guess that's what we'll do. Found some chairs in our unit but no umbrella. With 3 grandchildren, they want to be right at the water's edge...... I find it hard to believe the Seascape owns the beach all the way to the Whale's Tail... that's a lot of beach. Where's the public beach? Each area, each condo area for the most part picks whom they want to set up the services or they send out bids...have a few good friends that got some good contracts along 30a AND YES they do very well financially during the season... Supply and demand is how they get those prices..... I don't care if they set em up, I will carry my chair ,cooler and park it in front of them We rent the set-ups and will request one right by the water and they always accomodate us. Many properties offer Complimentary Beach Service, so you have chairs waiting for you and you don't have to haul your own down.... WE are renting a house that has beach service provided. Essentially we are getting 2 chairs and one unbrella for 17 people.

That just isn't gong to cut it. We are all ready paying almost $10,000 for the house. For each adult to have a chair for the week it will cost us another $840? That is just crazy. So, if we just set up closer to the water we should be ok? Does that include popping up a Cabana or will that be pushing it? no offense, maybe you were unaware but did you check into the amount of beach chairs that the rental home was going to provide? Most rental(s) of the condos do normally give you 2 as well. Is the house you are renting on the gulf ? To me there is nothing wrong with setting up beach chairs close to the water line ( i may be incorrect but i think its 20 feet - so its open season to set up camp in front of already set up beach service rental chairs.) the cabana thing - I personally wouldnt go that far - Recommendations where to stay Best kiddie pool area? * * * days to Destin! We will be staying at the Luau, which is near the Finz restaurant. We are renting directly from an owner and will not have an amenitites card. Does anyone have any information they can offer regarding the rental of beach umbrella/chairs? Can we rent from Sandestin w/o an amenities card? If so, how much per day? Will the Hilton rent to us? If so, how much per day. Trying to decide what our options are. Would rather not invest in cheap umbrella/chairs from Walmart. I just returned from Sandestin. Not sure when you are going per your question above so I hope you have not already left.

I would go ahead and invest in your umbrella from walmart. Also a reminder to all. Renting directly from an owner and not having a resort card can cause you a few problems. This trip we saw so many times people who tried to get on the tram/shuttle that takes you around the resort who did not have a resort card and were turned away from being able to ride. You must have a card to take advantages of most of the great amenities that come with this resort. I am not for sure on the umbrellas but it is a pretty good bet that you will need to have one. Again without that card you will not be able to take advantage of the shuttle etc. The best part about staying at Sandestin is the fact that you can park your car and literally not have to use it again. The shuttle takes you everywhere within the resort (restaurants, shopping, beach, bike rentals etc.). What time does the shullte start? We like to walk the beach in the a.m. and we are staying at Club Intrawest which is far away from the beach by the looks of the map.

During the summer season the shuttle runs from 6am til 3am. We just returned (w/ 2 young kids) from an 8 night stay at Beachside 2. We rented from a private owner but were provided an amenity card. We WERE asked for it on the shuttle. Our "level" of amenity card did not include the 4 hours of bicycle rental/day that other cards do include, so we paid. Being able to ride the shuttle is a must. Luau is close to the beach but you still might look for a shuttle to take you back from the beach and to the village. We didn't worry about umbrella rentals - we just laid out towels...we have kids so don't sit down anyway. The umbrellas/2 chairs are about $40/day or thereabout. If you're driving you can bring stuff w/ you. We flew from DFW so didn't have stuff I would have liked to. We paid for a taxi to take us to the grocery store once and got the shuttle service to take us another time. If they are too busy to go off-resort, they can't take you to the grocery store (I did not know this and was upset because we didn't have any food!).
