Cons There are still a lot of processes and baggage from the past that we have to work through. The new leadership says that the focus is changing to development of employees and tools, which is good change.

2 Mar, 2017 I have been working at BCAA full-time (Less than a year) Pros Head office - rare opportunity in Vancouver to see the business full-circleCEO - Shom Sen is a fantastic leader - top down culture is second to none. As a middle manager, I met the CEO within weeks of starting the job and he immediately knew my nameCareer development - as a head office and an organization that values personal growth, opportunities for vertical or lateral transfer in the business are amazing. The organization is committed to training and growth of their staffIt's an NPO - no shareholders to please, the organization as a whole does well financially, but the bottom line is not a focus, as the money is always re-invested in the organization and its peopleCompensation - highly competitive comp package, including profit sharing and staff perks, great overall health and wellness benefits, solid vacation offering including opportunity to bank OT for non-management employees. Cons Location in Burnaby - not transit accessible.

Commuter-friendly for those coming from the east, but not convenient from central VancouverThe mandate of the business is restricted due to its nature and being an NPO, no opportunity to grow outside BC 3 Mar, 2017 Pros Leadership is supportiveGreat work/life balanceYou feel like you are really making a differenceSense of community throughout the organization Cons parking closer to home office would be nice Is this helpful? The community relies on everyone sharing – Add Anonymous Review 5 Mar, 2017 I have been working at BCAA full-time (More than 10 years) Pros - Good vision and mission- Competitive benefits- Promote work life balance- Environment sustainability and support the local communities Cons - takes a long time to get where you want to get to in terms of career development- potentially loss of valuable employees due to the waiting process- head office transformation is required- it is apparently not unified as some departments are more modern and up to date and some are still in their 80's.

Advice to Management - need more transparency in the management action plan with timeline to employees, etc.- stronger leadership in lower management team.- keep the good work on giving back to the community. 26 Jan, 2017 I worked at BCAA full-time (More than 3 years) Pros The people were amazing and really enjoyed working here. If you like to be challenged and work as a team, this is a great fit for you. Cons The opportunities to advance further were limited and I didn't feel as supported as I would have liked. Having over 5 different leaders that I reported into did not help. Advice to Management Stability, support, and meaningful coaching will help in developing leaders to progress further within the organization. I'm confident with the recent changes that this will be for the best. 6 Dec, 2016 Pros Good working environment and people Cons Dealing with people complain all day. 12 Dec, 2016 Helpful (2) I have been working at BCAA full-time (More than 5 years) Pros good hardware, salary, bonus, benefit, gym Cons poor management, poor teamwork, poor discussion, poor response, poor supervision 25 Nov, 2016 Helpful (1) I have been working at BCAA full-time (Less than a year) Pros Career ProgressionAbove Average BenefitsOnsite GymGreat Work Life BalanceTrue and genuine commitment to our Members and CustomersTeam ethos from the top downEngaging and personable executive teamLots of staff socials and

A very proactive organization (Auto Service Center, Yaletown Service Location and EVO. Professional development is available not matter what your job title is. A great place to start or extend your career. Cons Be more competitive with compensation Advice to Management Keep looking forward 5 Oct, 2016 Helpful (1) I worked at BCAA (More than a year) Pros Benefits, Free Membership, Quarterly Bonus, RRSP Contribution top up, Free coffee, Employee lounge, Free Parking, Closed on all Public Holidays. They pay you just enough to feel fair, but how hard they work you and the mental instability one experiences either with staff, management, or customers is enough to offset the positives.

Cake celebrations every month - yay! Cons Because the business is filled with referral hires and non-locals with minimum experience, it's run by a few good people surrounded by amateurs, pretenders, and wannabes who act like they know what they are talking about. It was always entertaining to hear someone flip what they said to be "right". Some Managers try to do as little work as possible and have very little product knowledge and it leaves people wondering what qualities the organization is looking for in their Management team. A short list of characteristics that they have: fair to good looks, appearance of positivity (genuine or fake doesn't matter), look out for their numbers and are defensive rather than reasonable, and female. I want to say good things, but it was not a fulfilling experience. I believe they hire people to brainwash them into believing that the products are good so that they become customers even after they quit. They can't keep good people because good people won't accept mediocrity.
