That one could be narrowed by omitting a couple of panels OR, you could purchase a 24" barn door. If you choose the later, you would have to purchase the rail hardware kit separately and install it on the door 24" door. How long is the rail for 42 inch width door version? Can i find this door in 32"? I haven't seen a 32" doors, you could take 2" off both sides to a make a 32", I don't think it would hurt the strength of this barn door. You can ask you local Home Depot for any suggestions.
