This family vehicle is designed to be more luxurious than some of the company's other products, such as the Voyager and the Dodge Caravan. The Town & Country has been praised for its comfort and family-friendly features, although it has been criticized for its poor reliability. The Town & Country is generally considered a practical vehicle for families. The Chrysler Town & Country is designed to carry multiple passengers. This four-door vehicle can carry up to seven passengers. This minivan is considered one of Chrysler's more fuel efficient vehicles with a rating of 17 city and 25 highway miles per gallon. It contains a 20 gallon fuel tank.
The Town & Country has a towing capacity of 3600 pounds. This vehicle is manufactured in the Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. In 1989, the first Town & Country was introduced with noticeably more features than other Chrysler minivans. This first generation was not in production long since the body of the vehicle was quickly redesigned to be more modern. The second generation Town & Country appeared in 1991 with a new look and innovations such as the first driver's side airbag in a minivan. The third generation was released in 1996 and included a driver's side sliding door. It was also divided into designated trim levels. In 2001, generation four was launched and introduced Stow N' Go seating. The generation five Town & Country was released in 2008. This current generation has introduced Swivel N' Go seating. The Town & Country is a front wheel drive vehicle with a six-speed automatic transmission. The current 2011Town & Country comes in three different trim options: the Town & Country Touring, Touring-L, and Limited.
The Town and Country Touring is the lower-priced entry model. The Touring-L adds some comfort features like remote ignition and heated front seats. The Limited model adds more comfort and entertainment features such as a heated steering wheel and a rear-seat entertainment center, which are convenient for family trips and vacations. The Chrysler Town & Country has earned plenty of recognition for its innovations and features. This minivan has won the Polk Automotive Loyalty Award for nine consecutive years. It also won the Motorweek Driver's Choice Award for Best Minivan" two years in a row. In 2009, the Town & Country won the Active Lifestyle Award for "Best Minivan". Morissette is the latest celebrity to fall victim to theft, including comedian Kevin Hart, Kim Kardashian, and rapper Nicki Minaj. Last June, burglars broke in and stole $500,000 worth of personal items from Kevin Hart’s Los Angeles-area home. Three months later, armed robbers raided Kim Kardashian’s Paris hotel room and took more than $5 million worth of jewelry, and left the TV personality bound and gagged in the bathroom. Earlier this month, rapper Nicki Minaj was robbed of approximately $200,000 worth of personal items when her Los Angeles mansion was ransacked by thieves.
