Back to the Future clock tower scene gets epic Lego makeover Who knew plastic bricks could evoke so much tension and excitement? Wednesday 4 March 2015 15:16 GMT It happened to Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Fifty Shades of Grey and now, Back to the Future has been given an epic Lego makeover.The classic Eighties sci-fi movie celebrates its 30th anniversary this year (along with EastEnders and Neighbours) and, even more excitingly, 2015 is the “future” year in which the sequel is set. To join in with the birthday fun, London studio Macro Lego Universe has shared their impressive remake of the famous clock tower scene, when Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) and Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) use lightning to recharge his DeLorean time machine. You can learn a little about how the video was made at annual Lego convention Brick 2014 on Macro Lego Universe’s website, where some behind-the-scenes photos have been posted. The attention to detail in this 6-minute short film really is Oscar-worthy, despite The Lego Movie’s Academy Awards snub.
Highest-grossing movies of 2014 Director Robert Zemekis and co-writer Bob Gale are busy working on a stage adaptation of Back to the Future, expected to debut in the West End later this year.LEGO has unveiled its Back to the Future Time Machine set.The line has been released as one of the special LEGO CUUSOO projects, featuring a DeLorean that can be customised into the three different car models that spanned the film trilogy.Alongside the DeLorean, which features time setting display, 1985 and 2015 license plates and a flux capacitor, the set will also include Marty McFly and Doc Brown minifigures.The CUUSOO scheme allows modellers to submit their own ideas for LEGO products and those that garner more than 10,000 fans' votes will be considered for production.The Back to the Future DeLorean was selected ahead of models for The Legend of Zelda, EVE Online, a Rifter ship and a modular Western Town.The item is the fourth user-designed product to be manufactured through the LEGO CUUSOO platform.

Further confirming the leak, product listings for PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One have all now appeared on the US Toys R Us website. The cheapest prices we found were on Amazon, which charges £68 on Wii U, £69.99 on PS3 and Xbox 3, and £79.99 on PS4 and Xbox One. During E3 2015, Lego revealed more about how exactly the game will work with the Lego Toy Pad, and how you'll be able to add, customise and control characters as you play. The Toy Pad has various different areas, each of which lights up with multiple coloured LEDs. GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) is Lego Dimension's artificially intelligent computer system that you'll find in the Portal games, and is a main character in Lego Dimensions that gives characters difficult puzzles to solve using the Toy Pad itself. Placing characters on different coloured portions of the Toy Pad will allow them to zap to otherwise inaccessible places within the game or scale the characters to make them bigger or smaller, for example. Each vehicle or gadget has three different build options. You'll be able to expand the game and add more levels and gameplay by purchasing additional level packs for Lego Dimensions. Lego has already revealed that there are "no compatibility charts necessary" in a big, obvious dig at Skylanders and Disney Infinity, meaning that future packs will work with the Lego Dimensions Starter Pack.
