What is a robot?

A robot is a machine—especially one programmable by a computer— capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically.[2] Robots can be guided by an external control device or the control may be embedded within. Robots may be constructed on the lines of human form, but most robots are machines designed to perform a task with no regard to their aesthetics.

Yes, they are machines.

Whether we like it or not, robots are everywhere. Inside houses in the form of Alexa, On phones in the form of Telegram bots such as Skeddy or Me. Google gives complex tests on opening an account to prove you are not a robot.

AI

AI or Artificial Intelligence is intelligence demonstrated by machines, unlike the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals. Leading AI textbooks define the field as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals.[1] Colloquially, the term "artificial intelligence" is often used to describe machines (or computers) that mimic "cognitive" functions that humans associate with the human mind, such as "learning" and "problem solving".

It has been a dream for many decades. That is why Marvel's Iron Man principal character Tony Stark has Jarvis, a robotic assistant and Butterfingers, a dexterity manager.

These are just the basics, anyway. On my next story we will go deeper into this topic. Because AI is fast becoming a part of daily life.
