This is the Model 3107 - Series 7 Chair, 1955 by Arne Jacobsen. Unfortunatly I can not really remember who mde the design of the Table. This model is confused a lot of times with the “Ant” chair, by the same Jacobsen. They ARE similar, but not quite the same. I like this chair very much and use it frequently for Render tests and Space design. The Drop chair was originally produced alongside the archetypal Swan and Egg chairs for the interior of the Radisson Scandinavian Airlines System Hotel in Copenhagen, designed by Danish designer and architect Arne Jacobsen in the 1950s. The tear-shaped chairs were produced exclusively in a limited edition for the hotel's bar and lobby. "Confronted with a synthetic material that lacked any structure or suggested any form, Jacobsen took his inspiration from the human form and the contours of the body," said architect, author and Arne Jacobsen expert Michael Sheridan. "In this way, he humanised technology and the Drop chair for the Royal Hotel represents a masterful intersection of art and industry." This version of the Drop chair has been updated using new production methods and materials. The chair comes in plastic in black, white, blue, grey, red and yellow. The plastic versions are available with either chrome or powder-coated legs in matching colours. The seat is available with textile or leather upholstery.

The chair will be exhibited at the Republic of Fritz Hansen's showroom at Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi 77 in Milan from Tuesday next week. Other Danish Modernist chairs that have recently been launched include Hans J. Wegner's CH88 design, revived by Carl Hansen & Son. British fashion designer Paul Smith has used his signature stripes on upholstery for chairs by Wegner, which will also be shown in Milan. Dining / Stacking / Office / Meeting / Public / Auditorium Indoor upholstery / Leather / Timber The Series 7 designed by Arne Jacobsen is by far the most sold chair in the history of Fritz Hansen and perhaps also in furniture history. The pressure moulded veneer chair is a further development of the classic Ant chair. The four-legged stackable chair can be seen as the culmination of the use of the lamination technique. A technique refined to perfection during the Twenties and Thirties by Søren C. Hansen, the grandson of the founder, Fritz Hansen. The visionary Arne Jacobsen exploited the possibilities of lamination to perfection resulting in the iconic shape of the chair.

Series 7 represents the chair in the Fritz Hansen collection with the widest range of applications. It is lightweight and stackable and offers options such as armrests, castors etc. Choose from an extensive palette of colours and finishes, fabric or leather upholstery or wood qualities. Series 7 is available with a chrome or a black chromed base in three different heights. Series 7 is available in a wide range of coloured ash, lacquer or in natural veneers: Maple, Beech, Ash, Oak, Oregon Pine, Elm, Cherry, Walnut and Dark Stained Oak. The Series 7 can also be fully or front upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and leathers. Various Series 7 Options Armchair, children's chair, castors, height adjustable swivel, barstool.
