The outside looked very clean and freshly painted. No problems checking in at the front desk. Examined the room closer than usual due to the discount price. The room appeared clean and I felt pretty good about my decision. Later on I started to get the coffee maker ready for the next morning.

Opening the lid to pour in water I discovered a dead roach laying on his back. I took the coffee maker to the front desk and they exchanged it for another. Didn't appear to be a big deal to them. Normally I would give kind of situation a negative rating but the overall experience was good and would probably stay there again. We chose Docker's Inn based on Tripadvisor reviews. While the price may have been right we encountered several issues. Upon check in I asked the clerk if wi-fi was available in guest rooms, the answer was yes. I was not able to connect to wi-fi once, connecting to internet on my cell phone was nearly impossible (even using my internet provider) . This trip was for relaxation, the first night we put out the do not disturb sign and did not rise until 10:30 the next morning, left the room about 11am for the day. When we came back to the room late that night we found our room had not been cleaned. The front desk checked notes indicating the housekeeper found the do not disturb sign on the door about 11am, the housekeeper should have checked back but obviously didn't.

The air conditioner unit blew directly on us as were laying in bed, in addition there seemed to be no way to control the fan, it seemed to kick on and off at it's own discretion. On our final morning, my husband was putting bags in the car, I made one last check of the room, as I began to pull the door shut the bed headboard fell off the wall! We took a family trip to Branson, Missouri in mid-July. I did the online research to find a place to stay, and used Trip Advisor. Dockers Inn was ranked fairly high, and I know why. The inn was clean, the staff very friendly and accomodating and they had a great pool. The location was convenient, on the yellow route and just a few minutes away from the strip and everything that you would want to do while in Branson. We had 2 rooms, they were very clean and the beds were AWESOME! Lots of great new pillows and the pillowtop mattresses were so comfy! The only suggestion I would have is unless you love walking up and down several flights of stairs in 90+ degree weather, request a ground floor room.

But we did get lots of exercise going up & down! They also have a good breakfast, with waffles, cereal & pastries. There is a good restaurant right next door that has a full breakfast buffet if you are an eggs & bacon breakfast eater. We had 2 rooms side-by-side. One room was continuously filled with flies, while other was not. Asked for fly swat, they said they did not have one but would spray down with chemicals........uh, no thanks. Pool filled constantly with kids, and since it was open until 11pm, always loud, rambunctious kids running and screaming. Got up for showers in morning....every day got colder, until 4th day was like showering in ice cubes at 8am. When earlier or later, temperature was somewhat better - just not adequate hot water for all guests. Breakfast was so-so: donuts (one day was out of donuts at 9am though breakfast served until 10am), toast/english muffins, cereals, and make your own waffles - be prepared to wait in line as only one maker and it takes 2 mins for each waffle made.

Breakfast also comes with 'entertainment', a lady singing 'southern gospel' on kareoke machine seemingly every other day (was there on Wed. & Fri). Both of our rooms needed simple fixes, like the electric outlet by the table & chairs was so old, computer plug-ins would not say in outlet, and my outlet cover was completely off & dangling off lamp cord. Desk staff are not friendly either. Standard a/c units that seem to go off & on by themselves - do not run constantly with fan, just shut off altogether so you hear all the noise outside; also was not consistent on temperatures: ie: you could get frozen solid on just over half the 'dial', and when it shut off, you could turn it all the way to coldest and it would NEVER turn back on for half an hour or longer. Also, some spots on nightstands had not been dusted since....who knows when- But they are the first to give you envelopes for tipping the pitiful cleaning staff! Saw same sort of looking places for half the price. We chose Dockers Inn for our recent trip to Branson.

We were very pleased with our stay. The best part about the rooms were the beds...The pool was so much fun for my 9 year old and very well maintained. I was impressed with the breakfast, considering what we paid for our room. We weren't expecting much and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety. All of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. There are 2 mini golf courses on same road as hotel and my son really enjoyed the Dinosaur themed one. We will definately stay here the next time we are in Branson. The room was very clean, going barefooted I never soiled the bottom of my feet, that says a lot about the cleanliness of a room. The beds are new Sealy pillow tops with luxurious bedding and lots of pillows. I understand the older mattresses are now in a name brand hotel up the street. Pay for a name brand, get an older mattress, stay at Dockers and get the best. And for $50.00 a night through Orbits it was the best price I could find for the time. They zone the streets, red, yellow, blue, for mapping and Dockers or any hotel on yellow or Green mountain rd looked clean and well maintained and just off the strip.

The red zone or 76 was crowded and due to traffic I would not recommend. If you are a smoker you will find all the hotels in Branson are non smoking but Dockers does accommodate you with benches outside of your room and smoking allowed on the premises. This is important to know since some do not allow smoking on the property and can actually fine you if you smoke in there rooms. The free breakfast was always enough for us. Cake doughnuts, toast, English muffins, 4 types of cereal, make your own waffles with regular and sugar free syrup, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, milk and hot chocolate mix. The coffee pots in the rooms make 1 6oz cup of coffee with these special packs so bringing coffee will not help. If you ask they will supply all the coffee you need. The Dockers restaurant across the parking lot may not look great on the outside but is very clean and appealing inside with an all you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, with breakfast for 4.99 and lunch for 5.99. They also offered meals like burger's and fries for 5.99, or liver and onions my favorite for under 10.00.You can purchase 2 day passes for Silver dollar city for the price of 1 day and other discount tickets through this hotel and they will deliver to you an actual ticket not a voucher which I suggest.

SHOPPING AND SIGHT SEEING:Branson is the equivalent to the Christian Disney Land and if your patriotic and love singing then you will have a great time. If this would offend you, I suggest you do not go to Branson at all. From the pledging allegiance to the American flag at the Branson Mall, to the Christian singing at your morning breakfast, it is Southern hospitality at it's best. We took the private cave tour offered at Silver dollar city which is by lantern for an extra $10.00 at the end of the day. They offer free tours throughout the day but this one is for only 20 guests lit only by lanterns, if you are physically fit and are not claustrophobic you may love the experience. Yes there are bat's flying around, I suggest wearing good walking shoes and carry a jacket. You will need to be able to walk squatting or bent over many times to fit through the caverns so be prepared. BEWARE of timeshares unless your into the whole free or discount tickets for 90 minutes of your time, they are everywhere.
