After all, it’s good for the environment, good for our local businesses and good fun. Here are some of Bristol’s best vintage furniture finds to get you started. The Reclaimer’s yard is like the Aladdin’s cave of the furniture world and it’s easy to get lost in here, so take your time.




From kitchen sinks to beautiful wooden doors, garden ornaments to antique writing desks, they have so much on offer you’ll be spoilt for choice. This is an absolute favourite with Bristol residents. Grown out of two people’s passion for vintage furniture, Dig Haüshizzle almost feels like a museum. Antique furniture, taxidermy and lighting are their main focus. They often have some beautiful collections of drawings and you can expect a friendly welcome. This place is worth a visit even if you’re not intending to buy (although you might not be able to resist a purchase when you see what’s inside). Nestled in the fantastic Clifton Arcade, this little store is a real find. Tonya has a vast knowledge of antique furniture and an ever-changing selection of exquisite one-off pieces, with accessories to match. There are also some great paints on offer if you fancy doing a bit of restoration yourself. Down the road from the central library, Relics is one for the music lovers.




There’s a colourful array of record players and some great posters covering the walls as well as two floors of furniture. There’s also a large collection of old records to root around in too. Focus on the Past, Clifton Village Floor to ceiling, Focus on the Past is laden with all sorts of bric-a-brac. There are some interesting paintings on the lower floor and some sturdy antique pieces of furniture hidden as part of the displays. The old fashioned tunes and volume of stuff in there creates an atmosphere that takes you back in time. A fairly new addition to quirky Stokes Croft, the Pop Up Vintage Market has all sorts different stalls including furniture, records, accessories for the home and clothing. There are some colourful up-cycled pieces for sale and some even more colourful characters lurking round the market, and in Stokes Croft we wouldn’t expect anything less.
