The satin nickel handle is beautiful and high quality as well as the dead bolt. The features are well thought out. The simple dead bolt lock makes it impossible to get locked out by accident, or break easily, the roll down screen attached to the window is high enough that my dog will not wreck it and if you have a large dog you can just retract it less. This was a must for me because my previous door has many holes in the screen from the dog jumping. Also the full glass allows for my pets to simply walk up and have a view without the temptation of jumping which is a plus.
I would also think this an advantage for someone with kids, especially with the deadbolt too. The door being mostly glass creates an amazing view through my front door and lights up the front hall during the day. I also feel good having the surface being 90% tempered glass, easy to clean and should last a long time. The first thing to go would probably be the roll down screen, but it's better than most I've seen, and worth replacing for a great feature. I just wish the handle on the screen was metal not plastic, it's the only shred of plastic on the whole door, seems kind of silly. The install took me about 5 hours alone, with a few exceptions I had a helper to hold the door in place while I screwed the hinges onto wall. The install was painstaking as I made a mistake with the template for the door handle and dead bolt. This is a very crucial step, as you have to drill several accurate holes in the aluminum, I was able to hide my errors with the large face plate though, but I do advise think about the template more than the directions which are confusing, especially if your door frame is anything less than perfect.
The installation required cutting the frame with a hacksaw in two places also. A door that wasn't reversible and had some preformed holes would be easier to install since most of the work is cutting holes after you decide you want a left or right hinged door. Similarly there are ones with "easy install" options, but often those models sacrifice some quality to make installation easier, such as using plastic extenders on the door frame and such. Overall install was slightly painful, but well worth it, I feel very confident that the final product is stronger and the weather seal is quite effective. Also the sound reduction is quite useful for blocking out noisy neighbors. The door closing lever is amazing, you can simply tap a button with your foot to hold the door open, and when you want it to release just open the door a slight bit further and it closes strongly yet tenderly, not slamming like some old doors I've had. You can also adjust the tension by turning a dial with a screwdriver, very handy.
Overall I am very satisfied with the product, I can't see how spending more money would get me anything better than this, it has it all.
