They give you every opportunity to move up with the company to be successful. Cons Depending in what part you work in the company can become highly stressful. The DC work tends to be hard but hard work pays off. Advice to Management Stick to your guns, don't back down to customers and/or employees that are tryong to take advantage of you. You were put in this postion for a reason, take charge and stand your ground.

Feb 12, 2017 I worked at Amarr Garage Doors full-time (Less than a year) Pros Great people to work WITH, decent pay, good work atmosphere. Lots of available OT if you want it. Decent benefits, but outstanding accumulative vacation time Cons Point system for attendance basically sets you up to fail. The no tolerance policy does not leave room for life situations such as illness or car issues. This is not a family oriented company so if "things" happen in your world it may not be the place for you. Advice to Management Dont seem to care about your employees... its ALL about the numbers. Accumulating 8pts "bfor you are terminated" isnt hard to do and taking a whole year "from the date you lost a pt" to gain it back is ridiculous!! This is the reason for the high turnover. Implementing an incentive program to regain attendance pts mite be something to look into. Feb 5, 2017 I worked at Amarr Garage Doors full-time (More than 8 years) Pros Vacation program is great. Work does not follow you home.

Cons Very labor intensive. Incentive program is unattainable year over year. Factory has a lot of issues with damage and delivering proper material. This is a weird industry with a lot of small business owners, so be prepared. Advice to Management Try a new approach. If it hasn't worked yet maybe it's time to game plan a different strategy. The community relies on everyone sharing – Add Anonymous Review Apr 15, 2016 I have been working at Amarr Garage Doors full-time (More than 10 years) Pros Great group of people to work with. Upper management and exec's that care and listen. Cons Sometimes the work life balance gets out of whack. Apr 16, 2016 I have been working at Amarr Garage Doors full-time (More than 3 years) Pros Flexible, nice co workers, supportive, small work place, like our customers, so so benefits, paid time off Cons Pay is below standards and difficult to live off of, management overlooks ideas of employees, higher education not rewarded, high employee turnover, high level of complaints from customers and employees

, short handed all the time. The company does nothing for the community. Advice to Management Listen to employees, competitive and equal compensations, improve work environment, become more environmentally friendly, don't offer bonuses as an incentive if your never going to pay them. Jan 18, 2016 I worked at Amarr Garage Doors part-time (More than 3 years) Pros Excelent benefits and overtime, i really liked working there Cons I really didnt had any issues Advice to Management I have the experience, i used to work at amarr for 4 years Jan 24, 2016 I have been working at Amarr Garage Doors full-time (More than 5 years) Pros Advancement opportunities without higher educationMany locationsFlexibilite working hours Cons Do not value advanced college degreesUnder pay everyone for the amount of workUnder staff every locationPenny pinchersExpensive benefits Advice to Management Listen to the lower level managers sometimes and make an effort to keep your best people. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

Dec 16, 2015 Helpful (2) I worked at Amarr Garage Doors (More than 3 years) Pros With a 73% turn-over rate....it's very easy to get hired on. Some very good people working at Amarr. Cons With a 73% turn-over rate....a lot of the people hired are lacking work ethic, discipline, willingness to listen to instruction and learn. The work force pool is very shallow, now that nearly everyone within a 50 mile radius has worked there. The chance of getting good, qualified help is slim to none and slim left town. Management fails to support the worker with problems being had with new employees. The worker is responsible for training and when the trainee is not willing to cooperate, and insists on doing it "there way" regardless of the "Amarr way" the trainer has no support. Most likely end up getting fired for trying to do your job. Company preaches one thing, but practices another. Worker burn-out is rampant.Very hot in the summer months. Comfy in the winter. Stay in school...learn something. Don't go to Amarr.

Advice to Management What management? Many managers are top-notch. But ham-strung by the idiocy of those above. Usually ending up just coasting thru the day. Not rocking the boat. And coming in and trying again the next day. My advice...keep doing what you're doing. Keep your head down and maintain the status quo. You aren't going to change anything. And keep looking for that real job. Sep 6, 2015 I worked at Amarr Garage Doors (Less than a year) Pros Great Atmosphere. Good team environment, good pay and benefits. Flexible management and room to grow. Cons A lot of hours required. Stressful environment at times. A lot is expected from each employee Advice to Management Focus on your people and give them direction to grow. Sep 10, 2015 I have been working at Amarr Garage Doors part-time Pros Alright pay, and paid breaks. Takes a toll on your body after a while Advice to Management Raise the pay.1: The "bait and switch" perception. This can happen when the customer sees a low price online (bait), but then the specific service they need ends up not matching the advertised price, then a higher priced door is recommended (switch).

No company wants to be associated with anything near that perception. 2: There are many factors that create a situation where even a ball park price is difficult to provide. Some of these factors include the number of manufacturers, panels, sizes, window options, windload requirements, decorative hardware options, and insulation options and materials. It would require a team of people full time to maintain an up to date web page with an accurate price matrix. It is difficult to make and investment this large to handle a problem so easily remedied with a free estimate*. Here's how we can help. This article lists the choices you have when you buy a garage door and how those choices will effect the price by using our simple garage door designer to create the door YOU want. you just push the send button and we'll get back to you with a quote at no cost or obligation! Go to the Garage Door Designer now Steel is not only the most popular material used in garage doors today, it is also the least expensive.

The grade of steel and the style of panel can effect the price. Let's take a look at an example. These 3 panels are all steel and manufactured by Amarr. The traditional raised panel on the left is the least expensive. This will typically be the style of the garage door you will see advertised with a low price. You will pay a small premium for the middle panel. The additional cost is for style. The panel on the right will cost noticeably more because the grade of the steel used in this panel is a much higher quality. In addition, the 3 horizontal sections provide a more authentic carriage house look. Although this door is more expensive, it is probably the one you will want to consider if your garage door is in the front of your house. It costs so little when compared with other ways of improving the look of the facade of your house like the price of siding, brick-face, stucco etc. When it comes to style for the look of the front of your house, this garage door does not compare with less expensive doors.

However, if your garage is not attached to your home and the door is less visible from the front, a lower cost door may better fit your needs so you may be more price-conscious. In this example the garage doors represent a significant portion of the home's exterior facade. When this is the case, finding the garage door that matches your home is more important thanLook at the difference finding the right garage door made on this home. Choose a material other than steel and you can expect the price of the door to rise. Here are the available materials in ascending order of the premium you'll pay and why people select these doors: Windows allow light into the garage and enhance the look significantly. Windows will add about 15% or 20% to the price of the door. There are plenty of beautiful window options available toThe designer can really help you find the style you like best. Most color options are included in the price of the door. However, some steel doors have

an available wood grain texture that has a slight premium. It's a great feature when you want to capture the look of wood with the "no-maintenance" of steel. Handles, hinges, knobs and straps will contribute slightly to the cost of the door. to consider these options when buying a carriage style door in wood or steel to provide more authenticity to the look. The insulating value of a garage door is given in R-value. R-value is a measure of thermal resistance used in the building and construction industry. The higher the rating the more insulation providedA wood door will typically have of an R-value 8-10, while a steel door can range from as little as 5 all the way up to 20. Generally speaking the higher the R value the more you'll pay for the door. Steel garage doors are constructed in layers. Single layer, double layer and triple layer doors are available. Single layer doors are the most economical and triple layer doors are the sturdiest best constructed doors available.

Here is an example of our line. As you proceed from single to triple layer the quality of the construction, durability and insulation value all increase. The Precision 100 is a single-layer door that provides value and durability. Distinct Doors (25 ga steel) Enduring Doors (24 ga steel) Cambridge Doors (24 ga steel) The Precision 200 is a double-layer door. The heavy-duty steel layer and vinyl-coated polystyrene insulation provide increased thermal properties and quieter operation. The Precision 300 is a triple-layer door consisting of a heavy-duty steel exterior, polystyrene or polyurethane insulation plus a layer of interior steel. It is simply our strongest and most energy efficient garage door providing superior thermal properties. Distinct Doors (27/27 ga steel) Enduring Doors (24/27 ga steel) Cambridge Doors (25/27 ga steel) The size of the door will have a direct impact on price, but in order to get a firm price estimate

on a new garage door the space needs to be measured accurately. Precision offers this service at(Hint: the only the way to get a real price quote is to have the space (not the door) professionally measured, otherwise every price is just a guess.) Wind Load & Impact Resistance Many areas have local government regulations for wind load, particularly coastal areas. Florida has the strictest requirements because they know what many do not which is... That in heavy wind, if the garage door holds, the damage to the house will be limited. garage door fails, the roof will be blown off and the house will crumble. If you live in an area that experiences hurricanes, typhoons or tornadoes, you may want to consider wind load and impact resistance. Fortunately, in most cases manufacturer's now include these features in each of their lines, so you will not need to sacrifice style for safety!
