For a quote, you'll just need to tell us the widest width, the longest length, and your desired mattress height. If you elect to order, you'll need to make a template if you decide to order as every shape is unique and we don't keep templates on file. You can make a template out of a plastic drop cloth you can pick up for a few dollars at Home Depot or Lowes in the painting department.
Questions or need a quote? Q. Do you only make the mattresses to fit around the wheel wells? What if I just want a rectangular shape? A. You can order a mattress in a rectangular shape. Just provide your desired length, and mattress height, and the distance between the wheel wells. Q. How thick of a mattress should I order? A. You can order almost any mattress height. The thicker the mattress, the more comfort and support layers will fit in the mattress. Thicker mattresses do a better job of relieving pressure points and contouring around the body. With that being said, if you have a ceiling over your head, you'll want to make sure it's not so thick that you feel cramped. If you have a ceiling above you, we recommend, at the bare minimum, 24" between the top of your new mattress and the ceiling. To gauge a comfortable distance, lie down sideways (most people sleep on their side) on the surface the mattress will be placed (e.g. back of SUV) and measure the distance between your upper arm and the roof.
Common mattress heights tend to be around 4.5", 5.5, 8", and 10" thick. However, we can make mattresses in almost any depth upon request. Q. What is the price range of your mattresses? A. They're called the 5.5" Elation Gel Foam RV Mattress (cushion firm feel) and 8" Luxury Gel Foam RV Mattresses (cushion firm to medium feel). 5.5" and 8" in the models names are referring to the thickness of the mattresses. They're called RV mattresses because that's who we're marketing them too, however, we also make them for trucks, boats, sofa beds, aircraft, etc in the same construction.
