I look at something like this and think it sounds like a great idea but wonder if I would really use it enough to justify buying it, or if the item would be easy enough to set up that I would actually be likely to use it.
I can honestly say that this air mattress has impressed me thoroughly on both counts. I was expecting it to be a pain to set up and even more of a pain to deflate and get back in the bag. I was wrong, this mattress inflated very quickly with the provided pump and deflated quicker than any air mattress or pool float I have ever used. Being so quick to set up and take down is such a plus because I know I will use it more. On a road trip you could easily pull into a rest area, set this mattress up, get some sleep, wake up and be on your way in minutes. This is a great mattress for couples to use in a tent as well, it seriously is that quick and easy to use. The entire mattress in the bag with the pump weighs 8 pounds 12 ounces and measures 14 inches by 14 inches by 7 inches. I am actually keeping mine in the vehicle at all times since the space it takes is minimal.The directions suggest that you lay the air mattress out flat on the ground to inflate, that was not a good option for me since it was extremely windy when I put this in my Explorer.
I laid it out in the back, unfolded it, then used the 12v pump to inflate all of the chambers. From start to finish it took less than 5 minutes. When I deflated and put it back in the bag it took about the same amount of time. The side chambers with the smaller valves were the only chambers I had to press on to get all of the air out and even that went very quickly. The larger chambers deflated totally before I even finished folding it up. Everything went back in the bag without issue.The quality of this mattress is exceptional. It has a very nice velour top covering and the gauge of the vinyl is quite substantial. The chambers all held air overnight without issue. I am about 6 feet tall and weigh 190 pounds and this mattress was very comfortable for me. The pump that comes with this looks like it would be too small to work well but this thing works like a champ.I am an avid fly fisherman and travel around to different areas to fish so this mattress is perfect for me. Before I left I placed the mattress in the SUV, inflated it, then loaded my gear on top along one side.
I put my coolers and other gear on my hitch rack. Camping this way I can fish all day, grab something to eat, then crawl in the back and sleep. I found that this mattress holds up just fine with soft gear loaded on it. I am quite impressed with the quality and the ease of use, and the fit in my explorer works perfect for me and the way I want to utilize it. I am hoping that I can get a lot of use out of this and if I encounter any problems will certainly update this review but given the quality and my experience so far, I don’t anticipate needing to do that.I received the Winterial SUV Heavy-duty Backseat Mattress at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review and am impressed with the great design, the high quality, and the quick and easy set up!
