I'm an increasingly-active (and very laid-back) streamer of video games at https://twitch.tv/CalAlaera. I am trying to foster a community of positivity and inclusivity.

On Twitch, I mostly play relaxing games which are more experience-based than challenge-based, and that means I get lots of time to interact with my audience. Honestly, the games I play are secondary. They are carefully selected so that I don't have to concentrate on them too hard - instead, I can hang out and chat with you wonderful people! My personal channel on Telegram is @CalAlaera. It is the closest thing I have to social media. I share all sorts of stuff there; some of it is venting, and some of it is NSFW (Not Safe For Work), but I won't be posting anything outright pornographic or such like.

Miscellaneous Facts

My surname, Alaera, is pronounced "ah-lair-ah". My parents adopted it after they got married as they wanted to share a surname, but didn't want to keep either of theirs. I believe it is a corruption of the Irish surname O'Leary.

I live in a poly group with my husband, and our partner and his son. All three of us are equal partners: the only difference to me between my husband and my partner is whose name is written on a piece of paper. Oh, and we have a cat called Felis, who is sitting on my partner's desk eyeing me disapprovingly as I type this.

I'm non-binary. That means I'm neither male nor female. To me, gender is like a four-dimensional sphere: I don't know exactly what it looks like, but I think I have a rough idea that it's kinda spiky.

I code in Python, but I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a programmer. I have far too many bad habits and my attempts to kick them have all failed spectacularly. So these days, I just code quick and dirty little things for the fun of it.
