About me

My name is Valeriy, I'm from Russia, Saint-Petersburg. I have been living here for all my life. I don't like this city much and preferably would move to Moscow, but at the current moment I have to finish some business here. Also sometimes I'm thinking about to moving to another country, and even taking part in the US green card lottery. It's not very serious though, because living in any country has its ups and downs, and being in Russia currently is more ups for me.

What I really love is my dog I got last year, a pug named Zeus. He is a cute little beast. Before that I've had been thinking not much of pugs, but my girlfriend wanted him so much that I'd given in. And now I'm totally not having any back thoughts.

Currently I'm working as a softwar developer in a very small company. Our area is various ad networks, payment systems and lately, the blockchain, specifically, a digital asset exchange (bitcoin, ethereum etc). Now I have pretty much free time because we are kind of in the middle of projects, and I would like to get another job, a remote one, if I still had free time in the nearest future.

That is the main reason to learn English for me: I've been learning it from time to time, mostly by reading the tech literature and watching movies with subtitles, but it's not enough to complete job interviews in foreign companies, and moreover not enough to maintain a meaningfull dialog between colleagues. So I've decided to continue practicing at Orange and get online lessons on Verbling at the same time. I did it before some time ago, but I hadn't found any use of it, so I'd quit.
