A robot malfunction creates havoc and terror for unsuspecting vacationers at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park.
In a near future, the Delos Company offers the vacation of the future in in the amusement parks Medievalworld, Romanworld and Westworld for U$ 1,000 per day. The vacationers get to experience life in the themed period, doing whatever he or she wants, interacting with the robot inhabitants that populate the parks. Peter Martin and John Blane travel by hovercraft to Westworld and soon Peter duels against a Gunslinger. However, when there is a malfunctioning of the machinery, the robots get out of control, jeopardizing the guests.

The vacationers can feel in the Middle Age or in the Roman Empire or in the Wild West and have joust, sex, duel against gunslinger and whatever he or she wants interacting with robots. <br/><br/>Peter Martin (Richard Benjamin) and John Blane (James Brolin) travel in the hovercraft to Westworld and sooner Peter duels against a Gunslinger (Yul Brynner). However, when there is a malfunctioning of the machinery, the robots get out of control jeopardizing the guests.<br/><br/>&quot;Westworld&quot; is a very successful sci-fi of my generation and a sort of grandfather of other robots films, such as &quot;The Stepford Wives&quot;, &quot;Blade Runner&quot; and mainly &quot;The Terminator&quot;. There is a scene in this last franchise that is an updated rip-off of Yul Brynner&#39;s character chasing Peter.<br/><br/>The story has flaws, but is engaging and suspenseful, holding the attention until the very last scene. Keeping it simple, thats the word with Westworld... No over complicated story arcs, just a simple Holiday resort goes wrong.<br/><br/>Yul Brynner does not have to do much acting in all honesty but he is truly menacing as the gunslinger.<br/><br/>The film is an absolute classic and a must watch for anyone.<br/><br/>There is talk of a remake but trust me... Even if they do... All you younger viewers out there... GO RETRO and check out just how good effects were in a simpler time. OK! There is no CGI but trust me - It will only serve to inspire the next generation of action films if you learn a few lessons from here.<br/><br/>Bigger, Bad Ass action does not a great film make!
The sight of Brynner walking indestructibly toward the camera, all in black, his eyes cold and unerring like a couple of silver bullets, is as haunting as any screen bogeyman.
It could have been a prototype test for future models.<br/><br/>Or the scientist/mechanic could have been one of the machines that was self-aware and built the robots as was mentioned by the scientists. a5c7b9f00b
