After being tracked down by Harry Flynn, Nathan Drake goes on a quest for Marco Polo' lost fleet. However when things take an unexpected turn for the worst, Drake must rely on those closest to him in order to find the Cintomani Stone.
For those of you who have a PS3 at home---Uncharted II: Among Thieves is the Action/Adventure game of a lifetime.

The writing is far superior to any game ever made. The story is as rich as a movie and the characterization is more developed than you could ever imagine in a game. The main character is witty and likable---with a touch of smart ass intertwined. The supporting characters are well acted. Claudia Black, of Farscape fame, is tremendous as Chloe and Emily Rose is excellent as Elena. You actually see the character interventions develop their relationship --- something you don't even see in movies nowadays.

The action is superb. Though you have to laugh that someone hired hundreds upon hundreds of thugs to stop one man.

There are a few tight spots that frustrated me in the game, but the overall experience was excellent. A game that once you are done you feel good about it.

Of course it is only on the PS3 and it will be the best Action game of all time---I feel sorry for those who do not have a PS3 to experience it---but if you have a friend who has one, see if he/she will let you come over and experience one of the best console games of this generation.

Uncharted II:Among Thieves----10/10 stars---awesome If this is made into a movie, the voice actors look the part and would be the best choices for the roles.
I really did not to expect to love this as much as I did. This is the perfect example of being one of the best video game sequels ever made. In all honesty, this achieved the feel of being a summer blockbuster better then actual summer blockbusters and has a tonne of fun behind it. It is easy to play and is probably Naughty Dog's best game.

Nathan Drake is back and this time he meets up with 2 thieves, Chloe and Finn - they are trying to recover a lost stone that was reputed to have a supernatural power that wiped out most of Marco Polo's ships which apparently is worth a fortune which after getting thrown in jail means that Drake and Elena and sometimes Chloe have to get the stone before Finn's client - a ruthless dictator because it turns out that finding the lost city around the stone would mean turning him invincible.

The plot is really stock of a couple of people find and get treasure against every odd given to them. It's just the humour that sets it apart from others because not only is the humour funny here but it is so refreshing to see them know this isn't meant to be serious and even in the dramatic moments, it's executed way better in here then most movies.

Okay so how's the gameplay. Well? In all honesty it doesn't have some of the luxuries that Tomb Raider has with it's platforming. Where this really shines is level design. There are an entire 4 or 5 levels devoted to you getting onto the back car of a train and getting further towards the front to rescue Chloe. Unlike the first game stuff like this PERFECTLY blends the platforming and the action. It is probably one of the most well designed levels I have ever played. Where this gets dodgy is the stealth. Namely that at times it gives you the option of doing it but it's designed in such a way that you're almost guaranteed to get caught. I just feel it should be better if they just didn't include it.

Basically this is just stock in terms of what to expect in terms of story. However the way they do it is done in such a way that is extremely entertaining even though it has almost all the clichés in it right down to the villain being a monstrous dictator with a silly accent. The place where this game shines is that unlike the first game this fixes the problems with combat and perfectly blends it in with the platforming. In all honesty, I've heard they're making an Uncharted movie and if it's anything like this (which being a video game movie I'll highly doubt) then I will see it in a heartbeat.

Istanbul, Borneo and Nepal. A recurring motif in the Uncharted series is the idea that magic and science are merely different ways in which an individual might attempt to explain the world. One could presume, as with the virus in Drake's Fortune, that the Tree of Life was in some sense magical. We know of countless plants with remarkable pharmaceutical properties, though, and there are many more yet to be discovered. The Tree of Life found in Shambhala, perhaps, was one such example.

Unlike Nate, who initially believed he was searching for a giant emerald (the Cintamani Stone), Lazarevic (and Schafer) knew of legends that related the incredible regenerative power of the tree's sap. The antagonist sought the Tree of Life not for monetary reward, nor even glory, but the promise of immortality. The Guardians of Shambhala were probably once the population who created an isolated utopia, initially imbibing the young Tree of Life's narcotic, life-enhancing sap in small doses. As the tree grew larger, they became dependent on consuming greater quantities, and could no longer leave; they were stronger, effectively immortal, but utterly addicted to its vascular outpourings.

Based on the safe presumption that discontinuing use of the sap would be deadly, this symbiotic relationship enabled the tree to grow unchecked while protected from potential threats. The Guardians were essentially bound in servitude, compelled to defend the origin of the drug that sustained them. Isolated from outside civilisation, the primitive Guardians dressed in terrifying costumes to deter those who might have discovered Shambhala (leading, it is implied, to the myth of the Yeti), and killed those who persisted. Few players realised that every piece of plant life seen in Shambhala is in fact connected to the Tree of Life. It grew rampant with great age, its roots entwined with every part of the city. When Nate creates a chain-reaction of explosions in the confrontation with Lazarevic at the climax of Among Thieves, the tree is killed; no longer anchored to the main trunk and roots, the surrounding landscape collapses. a5c7b9f00b
