Alongside Darius Britt Simon Cade is one of the most inspiring young film-teaching filmmaker on YT. It&#39;s really helpful to learn from other young filmmakers. I&#39;m especially really impressed by his creativity in his videos. <br/><br/>Well...Unfortunately I&#39;m not really satisfied with this short. Visually it looks really good. But the story doesn&#39;t fit for a short film. Although the story is well implemented, still it&#39;s not possible to feel for the characters, since the whole idea is material for a longer short film. <br/><br/>Really painful to see how only the thoughts for a film were not good enough to satisfy me, although everything else seemed good to me.
For someone who claims to have answers about how you should make films and improve your cinematography, I expected at least a watchable video. Silly me. Maybe the director should stop vlogging, get behind the camera in real life, or better, learn to walk the walk from someone who actually knows what they are doing in practice, not just in their head or on paper. The image quality, unfortunately, was also horrible. No lighting, poor lens choice, lifeless grading. You can barely make out faces, or whether it&#39;s in focus or not in most shots. No excuse for this in 2016. I couldn&#39;t even tell that he shot the wrong guy at the end. And the bicycle scene looked super weird on so many levels. You would literally have to work hard to get such poor images if you knew what you were doing. A 500 dollar used camera can produce much better imagery than this in the hands of a competent amateur. Expecting something better to back up all the talking next time.
