In Wasteland's vast and barren deserts of scrap and debris in a post-apocalyptic 1997 where water is the new currency, the reclusive orphaned scavenger and die-hard comic aficionado known only as the Kid, barely manages to survive, trading relics of a bygone time for food and water. Living constantly under the sadistic monarch Zeus' heavy thumb, the Kid who struggles to lay low, is utterly unprepared for the unforeseen encounter--let alone, friendship--with the lively and free-spirited, Apple, who can't take no for an answer. However, only when Apple falls into Zeus' hands will Kid realise that his beloved Turbo Rider's newly-found high-tech justice-enforcing gear is meant for a true hero sworn to defend those in need. Will the skittish Kid step up to truly become the Turbo Kid?
In a post-apocalyptic future, THE KID, a young solitary scavenger obsessed with comic books must face his fears and become a reluctant hero when he meets a mysterious girl named APPLE. Despite their efforts to keep to themselves, ZEUS, the sadistic and self-proclaimed leader of the Wasteland, plagues THE KID and APPLE. Armed with little more than blind faith and an ancient turbocharged weapon, THE KID learns of justice and friendship and embarks on an incredible journey to rid the Wasteland of evil and save the girl of his dreams.
This is my first time writing a review on a film, because i love this film so much. As a person who's into art I like the artwork in the characters in this movie. Most people won't realize the art in this film but as a artist myself it's art. It's been along time sent we have a movie with some originality and creative ideas. The more movies I watch I keep thinking how different Turbo Kid was from other movies. Turbo Kid really separated itself from all those high budget movies 2015.

I'm not saying it's the best movie ever made but this film is truly special in many ways you could imagine. Back when there use to be about originality and creative ideas from filmmakers now it's about recycling, remakes and superhero movies in Hollywood. Sure Turbo Kid have it's flaws so does other films nothing is ever perfect enough. But what makes Turbo Kid special is how creative it was with the characters; these characters Apple,The Kid, Frederic and Skeletron just stick with you. For me the only thing was lacking is the writing it could of been better but it's no excuse to hated because no movie is perfect.

Now with the character Skeletron one of my favorite in the movie he not your typical villain. This villain had a lot of humor to him he doesn't talk but the actor (Edwin Wright) have good body movements and expression. He gave a lot of silly reactions into his villain character that cartoonist humor. These filmmakers managed to include everything in their vision of work on a low budget salary. I can't wait to see more of their ideas. I know a lot of directors start of small and later find success. I like every detail and the style were they was going in Turbo Kid: viewing and analyzing every detail how they create these characters and the killing gave so much meaning. Turbo kid is a movie that truly standout how it was shot in different angles between the characters, bike scenes and the gore action they didn't hide any detail from the audiences. The Cinematography scenes between Apple and The Kid was incredible the way they shot from different angles riding their bikes and the swing set scene; lot of great photography images in this movie.

All the characters costume Apple, The Kid and Skeletron was so original that's how you know this movie will be a cult classic. I see a lot fans on instagram in turbo kid hashtag posting cosplay/Halloween costume and this was their idea. These filmmakers manage to create three character, some side characters original costume design for The Kid and Apple first and second wardrobe transformation, Skeletron costume designing. Listening to the filmmakers and cast interview on youtube, i just hope they find success in the future with a wider audience in fans with Turbo Kid 2.

Turbo Kid is a entertaining and engaging film to watch over and over again. And i thank these three upcoming new directors did a great job capturing all of this on screen with their first feature film and they very much deserve the praise they get. I enjoy every moment watching this movie every time is an adventure again. Thank you.

The Soundtrack by Le Matos goes very well with the movie i love all the tracks. My favorite tequila sunrise,Like Faith or Some Sh*t and The kid, but honestly i love the whole soundtrack it like you traveling on a journey to the 80s the music is like a romance fantasy ride very legendary.
My quick rating - 6,6/10. A futuristic (1997 is the future in this movie) look at the planet running out of water ala Mad Max. The movie itself is such a tribute to the 80s flicks including the midi music, the time frame, clothing, etc. that it then makes sense that the future is 1997. Same basic idea but cross that with Kick Ass and an extreme amount of blood and guts. This was a fairly solid movie that held its own on all accounts. It even sprinkled a little love twist between our star and a quirky robot girl. The action is edited nicely to keep a solid look to it. The actors play their parts just fine (not like Michael Ironside EVER has a problem playing a bad guy.) Apple (Laurence Leboeuf) The female robots facial expressions throughout the movie almost seemed painful to pull off. CGI maybe? lol. Anyway, a very well made and violent flick that will surely garner a slight cult following just as Kick Ass did. I can see sequel potential out of this one and look forward to it. Definitely check it out if you get the chance and have fun with it. I can assure you the film makers did just that.
The film is, in that sense, the ultimate fan film since it monotonously aggregates previously existing scifi/fantasy tropes. Rejoice, Gen X viewers, for now you can uncritically enjoy your childhood's junk food culture just because you're looking at the past through the rose-colored lenses of the future.
