Music can be so good for your soul! There's nothing like that feeling you get when your favorite song comes on the radio, or you crank up the speaker and dance all your worries away in your living room. We usually have music playing throughout the day, and it can really make even the most mundane tasks and chores a lot more fun. And of course, there has to be a playlist on any long car rides! Singing along to the radio is a great way to pass the time and keep little kids entertained. But when it comes to choosing music or songs to listen to, a lot of parents consider how kid-friendly the songs are.
When you've got younger children, you don't want to blast a song full of profanity, or songs with questionable lyrics. The good news is, there are plenty of songs out there that the whole family will enjoy, and you don't have to worry about your kids hearing something they shouldn't be hearing! Here are some of the best songs for families, from the very young to the young at heart.
This is SUCH a catchy song, and it has one of the most positive and uplifting messages! Not to mention your kids will probably recognize it from the movie Despicable Me, and may even know some of the lyrics already. We love songs that encourage listener participation, so clap along to this bop.
Another catchy tune from one of the biggest kids' movies of the last few years - Trolls! Now, we know this song and movie is technically for our kids, but it's Justin Timberlake, you guys. So we have no qualms putting this one on and shaking our groove thing.
Admit it: you're secretly glad this song is kid-friendly because you can't resist putting it on and singing and dancing along, right? Turn this song up in the car and just wait for the chorus from the back seat - this one is a big hit with the car seat crowd.

If you're going to listen to music as a family, it might as well be a song that'll your kiddos a little something! But in all seriousness, this classic jam from The Jackson 5 has aged so well, and we'll probably listen to it with our grand kids one day. They just don't make music like this anymore!
