James West and Artemus Gordon are two agents of President Grant who take their splendidly appointed private train through the west to fight evil. Half science fiction and half western, Artemus designs a series of interesting gadgets for James that would make Inspector Gadget proud. A lighthearted adventure series.
Two Secret Service Agents, equipped with a wide array of gizmos, work for the government in the Old West.
And a great one it was. Forget the movie version, that was over produced and just plain bad, THIS is the good one. Sort of sci-fi, sort of western, but all cool, this was dealing with spy/counterspy in a way that made us all feel safe at night. Robert Conrad was just great, and Ross Martin steals the show with his unrecognizable disguises. Great fun.
I've watched The Wild Wild West, and I enjoy the chemistry between Robert Conrad and Ross Martin. It's funny and I like all the different disguises Artemus Gordon comes up with. In my opinion after Ross Martin left the show because of illness, it just never was the same. The actors who took his place just never seem to have the same chemistry.
