A hapless chauffeur must take a comatose secret agent's place using his special gadget-laden tuxedo.
Jimmy Tong is just a lowly chauffeur for millionaire Clark Devlin, until Devlin has an accident that puts him in the hospital. Tong is sent back to fetch some things for Devlin and unknowingly tries on Devlin's tuxedo and finds that it gives extraordinary powers to anyone that dons the suit. This discovery thrusts Tong into world of international intrigue and espionage and pairs him with an inexperienced partner.
I like the majority of the movie. I mean Jackie is always great in almost every movie he's in. This movie however he really doesn't do that much awesome stunts. Here he's really more a comedian. I also don't like the villain because he really isn't intimidating and he basically gets he butt handed to him by Jackie without a fight. They could have at least made the villain put up more of a fight! Overall I liked a majority of the story the only thing that I really don't like is Jennifer Love Hewitt's character because her development is weak and she is so annoyingly hot. I mean I like it but they don't need to advertise it so much in a movie, like this one. I enjoyed this movie for the most part except for the final fight. Overall I give it a 7.5 out of 10.
As Jackie Chans number one fan... (aren't we all), I knew the move to Hollywood was going to put a dampener on the man we all know and love!

Rush Hour, as successful as it was, was a great vehicle for him, yet still managed to restrict the clown prince of kung fu who OWNED each of his films up to then.

With his Hollywood pictures, it feels as if Jackie is taking one step forward and one step back - never really being allowed to show the true star that he really is!

The Tuxedo, as one of his earlier US films, falls somewhere in between...

Although shot in Toronto, this film is dripping with pure Hollywood cheese that really rattles my cage, and some of its main stunts are cut and repeated so much it takes away from the work involved.

On that note, and knowing that it is the Tuxedo that makes Jackie fight (I know - ridiculous), he is still held back from some incredible 'what- could-have-been' moments, as he has that many wires strapped to him!

Personally, if it was my film, I would have put the amazing Sammo Hung in the role. Allowing such a suit to give his portly butt those moves would have been stronger and funnier.

That said, The Tuxedo does get viewed in our house often. The kids love it, and I haven't tired of seeing it yet... Enjoyable!
Who writes this stuff, anyway? Does this not sound like utter gibberish? Surely, this film did not actually get made, did it? Yes, it did. I have seen it. But you, oh, fortunate one, don't have to. Consider yourself lucky.
