Traveling Route 66, a charismatic preacher, Reverend Johnny Jones, and his seductively beautiful Latina girlfriend, Rebecca, find their lives spiraling out of control as they travel from small town to small town; running their scam on the churches they encounter along the mother road. He's able to convince people he has the power to heal their illnesses and solve their most dreadful life experiences. But what the couple think is their scam begs the question does he really have the power? It's a question that haunts him and only intensifies his inner demons. Scarred for life, his childhood abuse from his evil father won't soon go away. He finds temporary refuge at the bottom of each bottle of tequila and endless grams of cocaine that goes up his nose. His childhood demons will not subside, neither will his vices. In the end, his powers serve as a blessing and a curse. Wow .. only 3 reviews till now? I hope that movie won&#39;t be underrated like many amazing movies in last couple of years!<br/><br/>I ain&#39;t a christian however am a believer of god and life after death, this movie is simply amazing talking about how imperfect we are and disregarding that god&#39;s still there .. Even if we have major sins .. How about a crackhead scammer having the healing ability as a miracle! <br/><br/>Ok I get it the whole movie ain&#39;t talking about religious facts or whatever as most peeps get it in reviews but the thing is you should never lose faith! even if you&#39;re a criminal. And finally yeah he&#39;s such a lucky man!
Hum! Well this is NOT a religious flick as some would have you believe. But, it does have some religious undertones. If you like road movies, motels, and route 66, the movie delivers on that. Pay attention to Jesse James opening monologue, it sets the stage for his actions and inactions.
