Six young ninjas Lloyd, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane and Nya are tasked with defending their island home, called Ninjago. By night, they're gifted warriors, using their skills and awesome fleet of vehicles to fight villains and monsters. By day, they're ordinary teens struggling against their greatest enemy: high school.
The battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd's dad.
First off, this wasn&#39;t THE LEGO Movie (And few movies likely will live up to that accolade). The Ninjago Movie was just a movie made with LEGO. If you&#39;ve ever touched a brick you&#39;ll likely enjoy this movie. If not, you&#39;re less likely to.<br/><br/>This isn&#39;t a groundbreaking film. I doubt it&#39;s cannon for those who are familiar with the Ninjago story line, this is a big rewrite of events. But it fits that cozy realm of watchable and entertaining.<br/><br/>You don&#39;t have to be a LEGO fanatic to get every inside joke, but having the childhood experience of play helps. It&#39;ll make you laugh a few times, and there are indeed lots of colors. Why professional critics think that&#39;s a bad thing is beyond me.<br/><br/>This movie likely isn&#39;t for everyone. And I doubt it was intended to be. It&#39;s a kids film and stays comfortably in that realm while not boring adults to death - which is more than can be said about a number of other films for &#39;grown ups&#39; in 2017.
This movie was horrendous! It completely strayed from the series and was extremely boring for anyone over the age of 10! Any adults who might have enjoyed the series with their kids will dread ever walking into that cinema.<br/><br/>The characters are completely different than the series, with personality, age, skills, voice actors, and even their hobbies! They have destroyed the series episodes with these new characters. The only similarities are their names and the roles they play (water ninja etc) Not even the CHARACTER DESIGN is the same. If you enjoyed the series, don&#39;t watch this movie and encourage them to ruin yet another Lego series with another movie like this.
Plenty entertaining and occasionally very funny, “Ninjago” nonetheless displays symptoms of diminishing returns, and Lego might want to shuffle its pieces a bit before building yet another film with this same model.
