Twelve months after winning the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and her partner Peeta Mellark must go on what is known as the Victor's Tour, wherein they visit all the districts, but before leaving, Katniss is visited by President Snow who fears that Katniss defied him a year ago during the games when she chose to die with Peeta. With both Katniss and Peeta declared the winners, it is fueling a possible uprising. He tells Katniss that while on tour she better try to make sure that she puts out the flames or else everyone she cares about will be in danger.
Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem.
Where do I begin? Of course the length. It's just ridiculously long, without anything that would make the viewer interested in, without principles or a cause. The main protagonist is a dumb little girl who can't even fathom her convictions, let alone hold on to them. She has a guy loving her, working in the MINES, while she's pretending not to like the parade of her and her "victorious" boyfriend from the games and all the posh show-off that happens. When the guy opens up to her and shows her that more than *she* matters, and the fact that he won't just run off with her, while all the rest stay in misery, all she can do is just leave. Then there's the other (long) part of the movie where she just starts to create this whole different relationship, while her lover is left behind the screen. What sort of morality is this movie trying to portray? Is this what the western world is moving towards to? Just awful.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is a sci-fi/thriller story about an annual event that is put on by the Capitol during which each of the 13districts send one female and one male to fight for survival in a competition that is controlled and televised. Whomever the winner is,is set up for life with the luxury of wealth and food. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) previously won the annual Hunger Games with another district member Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson); but The Capitol is angry and wants revenge. It is explained to Katniss by President Snow that her acted of defiance in the last Hunger Games when her and Peeta tried to commit double suicide ignited an uproar in all of the districts and she must convince the districts that her and Peeta are madly in love and a victory tour is announced. The victory tour takes off, but unfortunately not convincing other districts that Katniss and Peeta are madly in love and they start to rebel which causes President Snow to make an announcement that "in honor of the third Quarter Quell, for the 75th Hunger Games the tributes will be reaped from existing pool of victors." (Collins, 2013).

The theme is about the basics of ones' self. Survival, family, and friendships. As shown in the first film "The Hunger Games," family is the force that drove Katniss. To begin with, her sister was the one chosen in The Hunger Games-Katniss stepped in to take her place. Family is what pushed Katniss to go against the odds and survive! Her family was depending her on 100%. Survival, another basic need. If one is to survive when the odds are stacked against you, you dig deep down instead rely on mental strength and physical strength and you keep your family in mind to keep you motivated. Katniss was very smart in both films. She studied her opponents, won allies, and defeated the odds of winning due to her lack of wealth.

The music and character costumes were an important element in the movie. Katniss's home-district 12 is rooted in the music of Appalachia: the lingering woodwind solos, guitars, dulcimers. "The performances of Dutch composer/vocalist Sunna Wehrmeijer added a sense of heartrending reflection to the "I Had To Do That" (Howard, 2013); while the hesitantly romantic theme for Katniss and Peeta in "Just Friends" brings back memories of the peaceful parts of his underrated score for The Postman." Music played an integral part in Hunger Games Catching fire.

The Reaping, costumes were is "used to create a distinction between the wealth of the Capitol and the poverty of District 12. The camera starts off at ground level, showing her high heels and tilts up to reveal a pink, ruffled dress, floral scarf, highly styled hair and umbrella. Other area's costumes were military or dull colors." (Howard, 2013). This set the characters apart when going to fight.

The Hunger Games: Catching fire didn't win any awards, but was one of the highest-gross films in 2013. Would I recommend this film to views? More than likely I would not. The theme was the same as in Hunger Games; whereas, Katniss is struggling with internal emotions, fighting for family, and once again survival. The Hunger Game: Catching Fire is a repeat of Hunger Games in the first hour and half, then gets a bit interesting. If an audience member was to miss the beginning, they could easily pick up in the middle.
[Francis] Lawrence and his team have calibrated the entire experience for maximum engagement. And while its pleasures can’t touch the thrill of seeing the Death Star destroyed — not yet, at least — the film runs circles around George Lucas’ ability to weave complex political ideas into the very fabric of B-movie excitement.
After surviving the 74th Annual Hunger Games, District 12 tribute Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) thought she would be allowed to live in peace. However, her defiance of the Capitol has given hope to the other 11 districts of Panem, and President Snow (Donald Sutherland) fears that she has become a beacon for rebellion and needs to be eliminated along with her family and all of District 12. Consequently, Katniss and her co-victor Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) find themselves again chosen as tributes for the upcoming 75th annual Hunger Games and third Quarter Quell. The movie is based on Catching Fire (2009), a novel by American novelist Suzanne Collins. The novel was adapted for the film by British screenwriter Simon Beaufoy and American screenwriter Michael Arndt. The film is a sequel to The Hunger Games (2012) (2012). It was followed by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) (2014) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015) (2015). It was written in the charter of the Hunger Games that, every 25 years, there would be a Quell to keep fresh for each generation the memory of those who died in the uprising against the Capital. In a Quarter Quell, each male and female tribute are to be reaped from the existing pool of that district's victors, thus eliminating the remaining victors from the previous 24 games. On the 50th anniversary, as a reminder that two rebels died for each Capitol citizen, every district was required to send twice as many tributes. In both cases, the eligible tributes were all 12-to-18-year-olds as usual, not the victors. Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson) was the winner of the 50th anniversary Quell. One week. Day 1 features the Reaping and start of train journey. On day 2, Tributes arrive at Capitol, makeovers and Tribute Parade. Days 3 and 4 are spent training. Day 5 features skill demonstrations with Gamemakers; scores announced. Day 6 is taken up with interviews. On day 7, the Games begin. In the book, there is an extra day for interview preparation. This was omitted from the movie. No, Peeta was lying when he mentioned a baby. It was all to help protect Katniss in the Games, as the Capitol citizens became so enamored with their love story that the thought of a potential family being ruined by the Quell upset them. Peeta painted Rue's picture to hold the Gamemakers responsible for her death. Seneca Crane was the previous Head Gamemaker, who was executed for allowing two victors. Katniss painted his name on a dummy and hanged it to warn them that they're not safe and the same thing could easily happen to them. When Katniss fires the arrow with the electrical wire attached into the force field during the lightning storm, it causes the dome to crumble and the Capitol's surveillance to shut down. Unfortunately, Katniss is also knocked unconscious. She awakens in an aircraft pickup next to an unconscious Beetee (Jeffrey Wright). She grabs a hypodermic syringe and enters the cockpit, where she finds Haymitch, Finnick (Sam Claflin), and head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who is revealed to be a rebel against Snow. Katniss attempts to attack Haymitch for not fulfilling his promise to save Peeta, but he informs her that the plan from the get-go was to get her out because she symbolizes the growing rebellion and that half of the tributes were in on the plan. When she learns that she is on her way to district 13 and that Peeta and Johanna (Jena Malone) have been taken to the Capitol, she again tries to attack Haymitch, but Plutarch manages to sedate her. She awakens days later with Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) by her side, who informs her that her family is safe but that District 12 has been annihilated. It's The Hunger Games logo, which changes into the Catching Fire logo and finally into the Mockingjay Part 1 logo. No, there is no scene after the credits. In a statement from Ross released by Lionsgate, the director said he didn't feel the schedule allowed him the time to make the movie as he envisioned it. a5c7b9f00b
