The most anticipated movie of 2011 has blown my mind. Michel Gondry's green hornet is one movie that cannot be missed, this particular movie contains comic action that surely everybody will like all because The 'goofy' Seth Rogen Is the super hero. The true star of the movie is Jay Chou, aka Kato and i have to say Seth Rogen. His accent was sometimes hard to interpret, but he was surprisingly funny, and Kato-vision (time slows when his heart starts pumping during fights) turned out pretty cool in 3-D and you can't forget the awesome coffee he can make. Without Him The green hornet would be nothing. The advantage of N. Cage dropping out was a good thing as Christopher Waltz has done an amazing job even though is accent mixes with several others.

I would Recommend You Watch This In 3D and Enjoy 9/10
Re: The spoiled rotten partyboy son of a slightly dickish newspaper magnate suddenly finds himself with a dead father, a Chinese mechanic/barrista, a sweet, sweet car and a mask. He decides to be... well... not really a criminal or a hero... more of a well financed vandal, for the most part.

Outstanding: This movie was directed really well. I love Gondry's previous movies (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is one of my favorite movies), and he imbues this one with a steady hand and a few innovative techniques. I especially love the scenes with Kato, both his fighting and the sly sense of humor. Waltz is great too, playing a crime lord with a few insecurities.

Unacceptable: I was kind of annoyed at the point halfway through the movie, when the two started bickering like little kids and got into a fistfight, but apart from that, the movie was a bunch of dumb, slick fun. Oh, and Cameron Diaz is in it as a smart/stupid secretary. She annoys me, but there are some funny jabs at her expense.

Summary: Seth Rogan wrote, produced, starred and slimmed down for this movie, and while he played the same stoned loser that he usually plays, if you like Rogan, you'll like him here. The movie is a little uneven and I found myself losing interest halfway through, when the witty banter and goofy action devolved into a giant gunfight and arguments, but it was a lot better than I'd expected.

3/5

Notes: Nicolas Cage initially planned to play Chudnofsky, the villain that was eventually played by Waltz, but dropped out when Gondry thought his plans to play the character with a Jamaican accent were... really stupid.
A big, boisterous action-comedy - a funny, exciting and intentionally goofy summer movie that just happens to arrive in the middle of January.
It's best to let Rogen himself speak about this subject. From WorstPreviews.com: Seth Rogen, writer and co-star of the upcoming The Green Hornet, told Sci Fi Wire that the film will possess elements of both comedy and action. "To me, the two aren't mutually exclusive," said Rogen. "You can have a big action epic with a lot of funny parts." Green Hornet is a big-screen adaptation of the superhero franchise, which was adapted as a popular 1960s television series and was inspired by the original radio program created in the 1930s. Hornet follows the adventures of Britt Reid, a bored playboy who inherits his father's crusading newspaper, the Daily Sentinel. By night he is a masked hero, fighting crime with his sidekick, Kato, who has incredible martial-arts skills. Rogen, whose film projects to date have been primarily comedic in nature, said that the forthcoming update will evoke other action films that feature an undercurrent of humor. "I've seen the early 'Indiana Jones' movies in theaters, and they kill," Rogen said. "There's laughs throughout the whole thing, and it doesn't feel like a comedy per se. It just feels like something that's trying to solicit reactions from the audience, and we think of movies like 'True Lies' and stuff like that. That's more kind of what we're going for with this." Director Michel Gondry also has said this about the film's tone: "It's an action movie with some comedy in it. The action will be fast and furious and the comedy will come from the dynamic between Kato and Britt Reid." Reportedly, he stepped down to work on a superhero spoof comedy starring Jack Black. It's called "Live With Me" by the Rolling Stones. a5c7b9f00b
