If you like cars, engines, street races illegal like and near death experiences then this is the movie for you. what a movie. ive seen this once at the cinema and i can tell you im going to see it again at the cinema go and see it if you havent your missing out 10/10 for this movie
I think I watched this movie for the same reason many others watched the movie: we wanted to see them fast cars. And there were lots of them. The drag racing scenes were definitely the best but after several of them it kinda gets annoying when you're sitting there wondering where the hell did these kids get the money for the cars. Finding out who's been behind the robberies is pretty easy to figure out as well.<br/><br/>Ok cars were ok but the relationships between the characters was not believable. I don't think that Dom and Brian connected so closely as to warrant what happened in the end. And the romance between Brian and Mia seemed to have come from no where. I believed Mia and Leon's love/hate relationship more.<br/><br/>If you have time and money to spend or maybe you got a free coupon from blockbuster, go ahead and watch this film. It won't really change your life or make you think but it may make you want to save up for a 80,000 car to drag and destroy. What fun.
Fearless as these racers are, it's hard to muster enthusiasm for a movie that plays chicken and then swerves about a mile before the collision.

His job is complicated when he begins to fall in love with Dom's sister Mia (<a href="/name/nm0108287/">Jordana Brewster</a>), finds himself questioning Dom's involvement, and begins to suspect a rival group, led by Johnny Tran (<a href="/name/nm0950935/">Rick Yune</a>). Meanwhile, his superior, Sergeant Tanner (<a href="/name/nm0505971/">Ted Levine</a>), along with FBI Agent Harry Bilkins (<a href="/name/nm0058175/">Thom Barry</a>), are worried because truck drivers are beginning to arm themselves, so the FBI is planning to bust Toretto in 36 hours. The Fast and the Furious is loosely based on a May 1998 Vibe magazine article about illegal street racing, "Racer X", by Ken Li. The article was adapted for the movie by American Samoa-born filmmaker Gary Scott Thompson (screen story) and American screenwriters Erik Berguist and David Ayer (screenplay). Brian jumps in the Supra and goes after them, followed by Dom in his Charger. In the chase that follows, Dom forces Lance off the road, and Brian shoots Tran. Dom begins to flee, but Brian pursues. They race each other for the railroad tracks, narrowly escaping a passing train, but Dom barrels into a truck, rolling the Charger and injuring himself. As police sirens draw closer, Brian hands the keys of his Supra to Dom and says, "I owe you a 10-second car." Dom nods and drives away. A 10-second car is one that can run one quarter mile in 10.999 seconds or less from a standing start. To do that, it would need to be travelling at about 135 miles per hour (MPH) at the first quarter-mile mark. Acceleration is not constant. Coming off the line, it should reach 70 MPH in 3 seconds covering about 60 yards in the process. The teaser trailer, featured on the DVD release of the movie, features the song "9 Teen 90 Nine" by Limp Bizkit. The second theatrical trailer features the song "My Way", also performed by Limp Bizkit.
