The Chinese government asked Xiaomi to remove the anti-theft security feature on the Mi Mix 4. This information is based on a report from the South China Morning Post media.

One of the features that Xiaomi introduced on the Mi Mi4 is the anti-theft feature (antitheft). Citing Phone Arena, Monday (16/8/2021), this anti-theft feature allows users to find the missing Mi Mix 4 unit, even though the SIM card inside has been taken.


As an added security, the Mi Mix 4 device also does not allow another SIM card to be used in this smartphone, without the consent of the owner of the phone.


Instead of being appreciated, the anti-theft feature on the Mi Mix 4 is now disabled according to the government's request.


Citing Xiaomi's statement, the South China Morning Post report said, "The anti-theft feature on the Mi Mix 4 must be removed because it has not received approval from the regulator and does not meet the relevant regulations."
