The movie starts with a good pitch in the first half and it will keep you stick to your seat. The war sequence, the duologue's, the direction everything was superb in first half. But in the second half everything went loose and the theme was totally changed. He didn't stick to one theme. First half full war second half full love and hate sequence. This is not the way you can make viewers glued to their seats. I read about Bajirao in some text books but in this film the story was totally twisted and the main reason for his failure was Mastani. He learned all bad things from her like drinking wine, eating mutton etc etc which is banned for Brahmins. Also the dance sequence by Priyanka and then Ranbir was baseless. Not required at all as the Maratha royals never do that. When you are taking a historical topic don't twist it so badly that good looks bad and bad looks good. SLB needs to learn a lot.
This movie has nothing to do with Bajirao. If you want to see a love story then go ahead be my guest. But if you are a history lover then please skip this one otherwise you would think that you wasted 3 hours of your life. The cinematic visuals are poor. The stress is more on the love life rather than the war scenes. Acting by Priyanka and the other girl is good along with Mr. Singh. This would be my first review on IMDb and what compelled me to write the review is that People like Bansali would go to any extent to defame Hinduism.<br/><br/>P.S. This movie is a clear cut example of the ideology Bansali has towards his religion.
