At a Hong Kong shopping center, Jackie Chan's intuition warns him. He saves a robbery's loot and gets on TV, ends up in Istanbul via South Korea and accidentally becomes a spy. Fortunately, he knows Kong Fu.
This action movie unfolds with the story of Bei, a salesman at a workout equipment store, who harbors dreams of adventures. It all starts when on one normal dull day, Bei follows his instincts to trail two suspicious looking men into an alley. When he realizes that these men are robbing a jewelry store, he jumps into action to foil their plans. Soon after Bei meets Liu, a private investigator who convinces Bei that he may be the long-lost son of a rich Korean businessman. In no time, Bei is on his way to fulfill his dreams of adventure and fortune traveling to Korea and even exotic Turkey. As Bei is drawn deeper into the game of cat and mouse, he realizes he has become the key to locating a new, highly addictive narcotic. With an assortment of characters fighting him along the way, will Bei succeed in finding the drug himself?
I've been watching Jackie Chan movies for a while (though I haven't seen a LOT of them, due to lack of availability), and I'd say this is definitely up to par with the rest of them. There was a lot of humor throughout the movie, there were hot asian girls, and lots of fighting. A few "public announcement" ideas, like dangers of drugs, are also included, which is a plus nowadays, with movies such as How High making it seem as if doing drugs is a good thing. The only strife I have with the movie is the small time in which the viewer is given to see the relationship develop in the movie, but the movie is certainly one of the better movies I have ever seen. Lots of action, lots of mysteries, and lots of laughter kept me interested throughout the entire film. There is also a very tense part in the end, but I won't ruin anything. Definitely a must watch.
One of the better Jackie Chan movies. The slapstick nature of his others was somewhat of a crutch that he has cast off, if only for one movie. He let the story carry things a bit more. I would like to see even more of this type of movie from him
