A victim of the malicious New Zealand-based file-sharing service in which hundreds of Australian women have had their nude photos stolen and shared online, says she had no help from police who dismissed her complaints.
Sarah-Kaye Steinmann was disgusted when she discovered someone had posted 10 nude photos of her on the forum, where she described participants were 'trading' images of women 'like Pokémon cards'.
The 20-year-old told Daily Mail Australia that most of the photos showed her having sexual intercourse with a former partner that she had taken a domestic violence order (DVO) out against, and were taken by him on his phone.
'I was 17 in these photos. I felt uncomfortable and creeped out that someone would have even kept them for four years,' Ms Steinmann said.
'The people on this live thread were requesting photos, like "I'll give $50 per photo for QUT (Queensland University of Technology) nursing" and other people would request other schools and it was really full on.
'It was like Pokémon cards: "who would be willing to trade me five photos for one of someone else", it was ridiculous.'

Ms Steinmann chose to go to police after noticing folders of pictures for specific groups, such as one that she said was titled 'underage'.
'Some of them [girls] looked about 12-years-old and they were in their rooms taking photos with friends. Some of them were in primary school,' she said.
But the nursing student, who also found death threats made against her on the website by someone she knew, was turned away by police from Toombul police station in Brisbane.
'The sergeant who was sitting down when I went in, I spoke to him for about seven minutes just telling him everything,' Ms Steinmann said.
'All the guy responded with was "how do you know this isn't a fake profile?".
'That was disgusting. By the end of me talking to him I was in frustrated tears and I said to him "excuse me?". He said: "how do you know this is a real person?".
'All he did was write down ACORN [Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network] and gave it to me. But I went on the website and it says sexual harassment isn't part of what they do. There's no laws against it.'
'It was very frustrating. It felt like police didn't care, someone whose meant to provide safety, protection and support. He was being condescending towards me'.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Toombul police station and Queensland police for comment.
After the conversation with police, Ms Steinmann took things into her own hands.
She says she saved the names of all of the women whose pictures she could find on the forum and spent about three days contacting each one individually to notify them that their photos were online.
Ms Steinmann said she knows of at least three other people who contacted police but says, 'none of them received a call back or anything'.
'All of the women replied saying 'thank you' and that they were really upset and most of them knew who they were with at the time and who the photos were [originally] sent to. 'Authorities should react to it as if it was their own kids instead of victim blaming.'
This is not the first time Ms Steinmann has had photos of her exploited online. The nursing student began a Tumblr page where she posted nude photos of herself in order to 'claim them back' when a former partner threatened to shame her by sharing them on Facebook.
'People can go on there and upload photos of themselves that they actually like instead of the revenge porn and backstabbing photos,' she explained.
'There has been a lot more positive reaction to that idea than negative, but there are some people who are saying "how can someone who uploads their own photos of themselves be a victim of revenge porn?".
'They don't understand the basic concept of consent. 
'The difference is that it has been a malicious and spiteful event with negative connotations to the images, as opposed to the body confidence or empowerment which is what my photos and anyone else's on there are promoting.
'It concerns me that these people don't understand that.' 
Nude images of up to 700 Brisbane women were shared on the New-Zealand based forum, first appearing on the page on Friday. 
A police request led to their removal on Tuesday, which was followed by the hacker vowing to upload the photos again, posting: 'come at me Aussie police'. 
The uploader allegedly named the women in the photos and even shared some of their locations. 
However, officers were limited in their ability to investigate the cybercrime due to a lack of complaints.
