Something of an indirect predecessor to "American Bandstand" (Like "Bandstand," it originated in Philadelphia and had many of the same technical crew), this teen-oriented music-variety program was hosted by veteran bandleader/performer Paul Whiteman. Whiteman, a fixture on the American pop music scene since the early 1920's, genuinely enjoyed doing this show, wearing loud sport clothes, using the kids' catch phrases of that period ("Real gone, man!"), and handing the sponsors' Tootsie Rolls and chewing gum out of a paper bag. A good judge of talent (Bing Crosby got his start with Whiteman's band in the late-1920's), Whiteman gave both Dick Clark and Bobby Rydell major early breaks on this program, as well as future recording company executive Bernie Lowe.—Bob Sorrentino

A community is under siege as three Belmont Highschool coed students go missing with no trace of their whereabouts. The pressure is on the police to capture the culprits responsible. Scouring the school hallways in search of clues, undercover female detective Maggie Rawdon (Jessica Sonnerborn) enters Belmont High as a transfer student in an attempt to solve the hideous disappearance of the students. Maggie makes a few new friends, and gets invited to a private rave in the country. Just as the group begins to suspect that they've taken a wrong turn, however, the trap is sprung and Maggie finds out firsthand what fate has befallen the missing girls.—Artemis-9
The original title was "Lure", with the fighting ring being a secret revealed at the end of the movie. Distributors decided to change the title to "A Lure: Teen Fight Club".

Casting call needs to be fired the only thing worse than CGI gunfire is the casting of this movie. I know they use 30 something to pay teens in movies. but these anorexic porn stars are not only older than their teachers but older than their parents. once you get passed that its a good movie watching them whine bitch kvetch and run screaming for their lives, fro these shovel wielding inbreds. It showed a lot of boobs at the beginning and wasn't to gory to put you of later on, well acted for a b-movie screamathon, well directed and they put some money in this. The dialog rang true and I enjoyed it good movie. in short a bunch of local losers form a cabal to hunt down and kidnap teen girls for their amusement.
