A mouthy and feisty taxicab driver has hot tips for a green and inept cop set on solving a string of New York City bank robberies committed by a quartet of female Brazilian bank robbers.
Belle Williams is a speed demon. Flying through the streets of New York in her tricked-out taxi, she's earned a rep as New York's fastest cabbie. But driving a hack is only a pit stop for her real dream: Belle wants to be a race car champion. And she's well on her way--until she's derailed by overeager cop Andy Washburn, whose undercover skills are matched only by his total ineptitude behind the wheel. Washburn, whose lack of vehicular skills has landed him in the precinct doghouse, is hot on the heels of a gang of beautiful Brazilian bank robbers, led by Vanessa, their cold, calculating--and leggy--leader. To nab the evasive crooks, drivers license-less Washburn convinces Belle to team up with him to pursue Vanessa and crew. Belle has carte blanche to drive at any speed and break any law. The car-less cop and speed-demon cabbie--New York's unlikeliest partners-- begin a high-speed game of cat and mouse with the robbers. That is, if Belle and Washburn don't end up killing each other first.
This is truly one of those remakes that never should have been made. Queen L.&#39;s role is totally unbelievable (I mean do you see her doing back-flips on a mountainbike across NYC?!). The original is copied in a very bad way and the translation from Marseille, FR to NYC could have been way better.<br/><br/>In the original, the key role is a believable guy who. You&#39;d think they picked him right off the street and put him on the set (which they did). The tuning of her taxi is really bad and again an unbelievably bad copy of the original in which the leading actor had enough street cred to do these kind of things. <br/><br/>As stated in the title, the only good thing about this movie is seeing Gisele Bundchen driving a BMW 760.
Taxi is the type of movie that I usually stay away from. I thought this would be a weak comedy but I laughed at quite a few scenes. This movie is not perfect by any means. This is just a movie to get cheap laughs out of.<br/><br/>This is about a really dumb cop who teams up with a hardcore taxi driver to stop supermodels from robbing banks.<br/><br/>The acting may be the weakest part of the film and that&#39;s cause of Jimmy Fallon. I don&#39;t think he&#39;s suited for cinema. Queen Latifah however had a great performance. The supermodels were mind-blowing hot.<br/><br/>Overall, this is a good movie that people should try to enjoy. I had a pretty good time. I rate this film 7/10.
