Sonic and his friends Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks live in and around a Village. This vast landscape is filled with jungles, mountains, undersea civilizations, cloud cities and all kinds of other environments.
23 years after the original Sonic The Hedgehog Video Game, fast, handsome, and arrogant hero Sonic The Hedgehog continues to fight his arch nemesis, Dr. Eggman. Along with Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and a new recruit named Sticks. But that is not all, Sonic and his friends also explore new places such as cloud cities, going underwater, and more.
First off let me start this review off by saying the voice of Eggman (Mike Pollock) is begging people to write good reviews about the series. That alone should set the tone to how bad Sonic Boom is. Secondly there's nothing good about Sonic Boom whatsoever! The games are bad, the merchandise is a fail, and this TV Series I'm reviewing is a lame excuse to call a proper Sonic Series. All it ever focuses on is trying to be funny. Last time I check Sonic isn't a comedy! He's supposed to be edgy, cocky, fast, saving the world, collecting rings etc. Instead it's all about getting pets, delivering library books, fuzzy puppy buddies and basically anything you wouldn't expect to see in Sonic. The character personalities are the worst. Sonic's a boring grandpa, Tails is a grumpy smart-ass instead of a upcoming hero, Knuckles is a complete f**king dumb*ss, Amy is a over protective mother, and Sticks is not wanted and annoying. Let's not forget about the other "Not needed characters of Boom" You thought Chris was bad? Here in Boom we have Mike The Ox, Dave The Intern, Zooey, The Mayor. Seriously? All not needed! SEGA seriously has a problem here turning their beloved mascot into a laughing stock and Sonic Boom succeeds for ruining and watering down the blue blur we all know and love.
Overall, I do think this is a great show. Sure it has a few duds, but what show doesn't? It has action, adventure, comedy, and much more. And honestly, it's executed VERY well. Some episodes like Unlucky Knuckles are more comedic or "slapsticky", others are more dramatic like It Takes a Village to Defeat a Hedgehog are more dramatic, or some are both like The Sidekick.<br/><br/>The animation is great. As the 1st 3-D animated sonic cartoon, it's a great start. Is it the BEST 3-D animation? No. But it's pretty good for TV standards. Another thing that's great is the voice acting. Each and every voice actor is great and clearly has had a LOT of fun with their lines. Anyway; great show. Recommended!
