If you like Heroes season 4, you might like this show. Everyone else, don't bother.<br/><br/>I'm about 6 episodes in and I can't stop yelling, "Are you stupid? Why would you do that?" I'm sorry to insult all the people who like this show, but this show is made for people who don't think.<br/><br/>There are so many things that are just plain wrong with the show. All of the characters do not have a ounce of common sense. How long did it take Jim to figure out that he has to cover up his face? I mean, I would be able to identify him in a moment. Why must Stephanie tell a research lab assistant her secret? It's not like they were friends before hand. Daphne doesn't seem to be able to use her powers the way most would. You know, just reading someones thoughts instead of the roundabout way. J.J. powers doesn't make him smart. It only helps him to understand things easier. So him being stupid sorta fits. <br/><br/>There was a scene where the daughter asks her father if he's lying. She can read his thoughts and he knows this. Come on! Of course she'll know that you're lying. And yet, he lies thinking he can get away with it. <br/><br/>Why is it taking the parents so long to figure out their son has powers? I mean, he doing things that causes the school thinking he's cheating or taking drugs. Why would the parents think it has nothing to do with the plane crash? <br/><br/>The family doesn't want other people to know about their secret but it doesn't stop them from using their powers everywhere. I'm just turned off by this. I'm guessing this show won't last a second season.
I waited anxiously every week just to see this show. It was different! The very first show I saw which was the first one, I thought great something different. Well, now I could cry because every Tuesday I check the shows for that night and I've been disappointed. Please bring this show back to Tuesday at 8pm. Frankly, if I NEVER see another Grey's Anatomy, House, NCIS, Bones (all hospital and crime shows), I will be happy. "No Ordinary Family" is more than solving a crime show. It helps me escape reality for an hour a week. I love it! I love the actors too; They were perfectly cast. They are excellent. Kudos for all of them. You writers, just don't get too ugly with the evil super characters. Be creative! The show would be great if everything is well at the characters home with surprise in the field.
Dad, Jim Powell, has super strength, invulnerability and leaping. He can lift 11,000 pounds (maybe more), has been run over by cars repeatedly without sustaining injury, and can leap up to 1/4 of a mile with a single jump, although his landings are often not very graceful. However, he is vulnerable around the nape area of his neck.<br/><br/>Mom, Stephanie Powell, has super-speed. She can run over 700 mph (maybe more). While moving fast, her reflexes are similarly enhanced as if she is paying attention, other things seem to be frozen in time to her. Her super fast metabolism causes fast digestion so she needs to consume a lot of food. She also displays rapid healing due to her high metabolism.<br/><br/>Daughter, Daphne Powell, can read minds. Further into the series, this evolves into seeing the events that happened to the person she touches as if she was in their shoes. Eventually, she also develops the power of persuasion, though it does not have any effect on her brother JJ.<br/><br/>Son, JJ Powell, has super intellect. He can instantly solve complex math equations, understand complicated theories and such. The extent of his powers is not completely explored but it is assumed he will be able to apply the knowledge and perhaps have enhanced memory. a5c7b9f00b
