Role description:
An Associate leads a key stream of an engagement, applying creative problem-solving skills, developing conclusions into recommendations, and working with senior leaders to implement change. You will work in close contact with project team members and combine your specific business knowledge and analytical skills to facilitate the decision-making process.
As an Associate, you will play a key role within a consulting project, have direct contact with senior clients, and on occasion work independently. Your tasks will include identifying issues, gathering primary data, forming hypotheses, planning and conducting interviews and analyses, developing conclusions into recommendations, and helping to implement change. You will go on to expanding your skills, assuming more leadership responsibility within your team, and working more closely with clients. The issues you analyse will get more complex and challenging, and you will become an expert in your chosen business field.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting primary and secondary research on the client organisation and the whole industry; interviews with the client and arranging focus groups
• Identifying issues, gathering primary data, and presenting recommendations to key decision makers
• Leading one or more project streams
• Building strong business relationships with clients
• Being a key team member on complex strategic advisory assignments: strategy reviews and development, market assessment, product development
• Moving the client to action; developing a plan to implement strategic recommendations; managing execution
• Presenting the results of your project stream. Keeping the whole KPMG project team as well as the client up to speed on the results of your work
• Helping the client assess the impact of market dynamics and the competitive environment on target companies
• Working on deal advisory engagements: commercial due diligence, integration and separation planning and implementation assistance, synergy evaluation, post-merger integration
• Designing and executing strategic and financial analyses on prospective target companies and markets
• Participating in the design and delivery of interview programmes with clients, customers and other potential industry participants
• Contributing to the delivery and presentation of client deliverables and marketing initiatives
• Playing an active role in business development activities
• Coaching and supervising junior staff, developing your leadership skills
• Adopting the KPMG culture of encouraging your colleagues’ talents and aspirations
The candidate is expected to meet the following criteria for this role:
• A degree from a leading university or an MBA; a strong academic record
• At least three years’ experience with an S&O group in a strategic advisory, Big-4 firm or industry experience
• A proven, successful track record
• Strong strategic thinking skills and sound commercial acumen, a pragmatic and logical approach to analysis and problem solving
• Fluent English and Russian, both written and spoken
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Personal motivation to deliver results within tight deadlines
• Creative thinking
• Effective team player, strong interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to adapt to a variety of engagement types, working hours and work environments
