Sex Portrayed In Tv Shows

Sex Portrayed In Tv Shows

👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻 ALL INFORMATION CLICK HERE 👈🏻👈🏻👈🏻

When we sit down to watch a specific TV show, we know what we want to get out of it. We watch Girls to judge the four protagonists' questionable life decisions. We watch American Horror Story to ogle Ryan Murphy's distorted imagination. We watch The Boys to dive into a fantastical future and test our own moral compasses.
If there's a show for every mood, what shows can a person watch when she wants to be turned on? There's no shortage of options. In the past decade, we've come a long way from the blurred-out sex featured on reality TV shows like The Real World. Now, pretty much every show runs the risk of becoming wildly embarrassing to watch with your parents.
In a TV landscape saturated with nudity and exposed buttocks, these shows stand out for portraying sex in interesting (and yes, explicit) ways. In some, like Masters of Sex, human sexuality is the main focus. For others, sex is part of characters' emotional journeys. Either way, it's hot.
Give into temptation. Watch these sexy TV shows.
Bridgerton (2020-present)

Why It's Sexy: This bodice ripper is all about wanting someone you shouldn't, and is teeming wanton lust, and intrigue — all set in the chaste-seeming Regency era Britain. The sexual tension between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) — who pretend to like each other for their individual benefit — is especially delicious.

Hottest Moment: Yes, there's of course the now TikTok-famous 3-minute sex montage set to a classical version of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams." While it's definitely worth the hype, the scene in which Simon secretly teaches the innocent Daphne how to masturbate is definitely up there.

Valeria (2020-present)

Why It's Sexy: Valeria is literally all about sex — writing about it, having it, and talking it over with your best friend. The Spanish dramedy is led by the titular Valeria (Diana Gómez), a struggling writer with an even more struggling marriage. But, Valeria finally finds her spark when she starts exploring erotic fiction — and a possible affair with hunky architect Victor (Maxi Iglesias).

Hottest Moment: I won't spoil the very best one, so let's go with a runner-up: the time Valeria's BFF Lola (Silma López) hooks up with her married beau, Sergio (Aitor Luna).
Insecure (2016-present)

Why It's Sexy: Because it's real! The HBO comedy follows the ups and downs of millennial dating in the real world, seeing best friends Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji) encounter a bevy of different men as single 30-somethings working and living in Los Angeles. Sure, their beaus are especially sexy (hi Jay Ellis, Kendrick Sampson, Alexander Hodge, and Y'lan Noel), but it's relatable and really makes you want to get on the apps to see what's out there for yourself. (You might not find Insecure-level hot people on Tinder or Hinge, but that's besides the point!)

Hottest Moment: It's hard to say because the show has given us a lot of sexy time since its premire, but it's definitely toss-up between Issa's sneaky link with Daniel — the very same one that ended her longterm relationship — or her drug-induced hookup with Nathan on a Ferris wheel during Coachella. Good times. Sigh.
La Casa De Las Flores
(2018-present)

Why It's Sexy: Since Casa is a sexy soap, people are constantly swapping beds in this telenovela. However, no couple is sexier than De la Mora son Julian (Dario Yazbek Bernal, brother to known heartthrob Gael Garcia Bernal) and his on-again, off again lover Diego Olvera (Juan Pablo Medina).

Hottest Moment: Julian and Diego’s contentious, mostly nude steam room reunion in the season 2 premiere.
Bodyguard
(2018)

Why It's Sexy: Bodyguard is basically Netflix's answer to the question: "Why can't I watch a show about political intrigue, terrorism and PTSD that also has a forbidden hot sexy romance at the center of it?" Game of Thrones' Richard Madden plays Sergeant David Budd, a former Army veteran tasked with protecting Britain's controversial Home Secretary, Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes). He hates her and also he loves her, and is there anything sexier than that?

Hottest Moment: Richard. Madden's. Jaw. Muscle.
Elite
(2018-present)

Why It's Sexy: Like Skins before it (more on that one soon), the teens of Elite are having truly wild, explicit sex — and seriously enjoying it. This is a show that features a butt-baring locker room romp within its first episode, which seems like a tame narrative decision by the bloody end of season 1. While Elite's most intense romps will definitely stick out, this is also a young adult drama filled with sweet hookups, especially thanks to everyone's favorite couple, Omander.

Hottest Moment: The first time Carla (Ester Expósito) and Polo (Álvaro Rico) honestly seduce Christian (Miguel Herrán) into joining their relationship.
Scandal
(2012-2018)

Why It's Sexy: Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) is powerful fixer in Washington, D.C. When scandal arises, she's the one willing to pull the strings and make it go away. But Olivia's actually perpetuating a scandal that, should it get out, cause a disaster. She's having an affair with the president, Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn).

Hottest Moment: Olivia should know better than to sleep with the president, but she can't help it — that's how good the sex is. Though the sexiest scene of them all may be a fantasy Olivia has involving Fitz and Jake.

Girls
(2012-2017)

Why It's Sexy: Girls is sexy in the sense that it contains a lot, like a lot, of sex. But since the show refuses to glamorize the act, not all of the sex depicted in Girls is actually appealing. Still, it's fascinating to see bodies in action in a way that mimics the awkwardness and clumsiness of real sexual encounters, versus the manufactured sex of most TV shows.

Hottest Moment: When Hannah (Lena Dunham) has a dreamy day with a stranger, Josh (Patrick Wilson)
Peaky Blinders
(2013-present)

What It's Sexy: There's quite a bit of violence in this period show about gangs in 1919 Britain, and there's also quite a bit of sex.

Hottest Moment: Pretty much anything involving Cillian Murphy. Oh, yeah — and all the orgies.
Skins
(2007-2013)

Why It's Sexy: These teenagers in Bristol, England are having the sex lives you wished you were having when you were their age. While their parents are turning a blind eye, the high-schoolers are having sex just about everywhere: Laundry rooms, rooftops, classroom desks, parties. Though Skins is a show about fast-living, it's also about the kind of deep relationships that form in high school, when your real self is just beginning to poke out. Since Skins changed its cast and characters every two seasons, the relationships never grow stale.

Hottest Moment: Cook (Jack O'Connell) opens the door a nurse's office and sees Effy (Kaya Scodelario) sitting on the examining table. They start having wild sex, much to the horror of the patient sitting on the other side of the curtain.

Sex and the City
(1998-2004)

Why It's Sexy: As a sex and dating columnist, it's Carrie Bradshaw's (Sarah Jessica Parker) job to have an interesting love life. And have an interesting love life she does. She mulls over each encounter with her friends.

Arguably, Sex and the City is a show about the strong friendship bonds between Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis). But since the women mostly discuss their sexual exploits and dating lives, most of the plot concerns romantic encounters.

Hottest Moment: When Samantha fulfills her firefighter fantasy — before he's called away, and Samantha ends up naked in a firehouse, that is.
The L Word
(2004-2009)

Why It's Sexy: Like Sex and the City did for New York, this show — lauded for its portrayal of queer sexuality — follows the sex lives of a group of women living in Los Angeles.

Hottest moment: It's impossible to choose amongst the show's nearly 100 sex scenes.
True Blood
(2008-2014)

Why It's Sexy: Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is just a charming (and psychic) waitress in Bon Temps, Louisiana, before she meets Bill (Stephen Moyer), the Civil War-era vampire who's finally come out of the coffin. Sookie is the first person in her town to experience a sexual awakening by way of vampire, but she's far from the last.

Hottest Moment: In a dream, Sookie figures out the solution to her love triangle and has a threesome with vampires Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Bill.

Spartacus
(2010-2013)

Why It's Sexy: Like Game of Thrones, this Roman Empire-era show intertwines blood, guts, and sex to degrees we're surprised were allowed on TV. The show's inspired by the legend of a Thracian general, Spartacus (Liam McIntyre), who was sold into slavery and forced to be a gladiator. When telling the story of his revolutionary rise, the TV show sprinkles in lots of nudity.

Hottest Moment: Wearing masks and body paint, Spartacus and Ilithyia (Viva Bianca) become sexual beings more than human beings.
Game of Thrones
(2011-2019)

Why It's Sexy: The early seasons of this wildly popular medieval fantasy alternate between battle scenes and sexually explicit scenes. While the way sex has been handled historically on Game of Thrones has been problematic at times (see: Sansa's wedding night), there's no denying that sex is an intrinsic part of the show.

Hottest Moment: When Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) culminate seasons-worth of sexual tension before Grey Worm leaves for war.

Masters of Sex
(2013-2016)

Why It's Sexy: Hello! It's practically about the birth of sexiness! Or, at least, the launch of the sexual revolution in the '50s and '60s. William Masters (Michael Sheen) and his assistant, Virginia Johnson (Lizzie Caplan), spend their days conducting sexual trials. Those trials seem downright clinical compared to the "research" Virginia and William conduct during their affair.

Hottest Moment: When Virginia takes control in the bedroom and helps William overcome his sexual dysfunction.
Orange is the New Black
(2013-2019)

Why It's Sexy: While serving time at Litchfield State Penitentiary, these women inmates come up with ways to while their time away. Aside from keeping track of shifting rivalries, sex is the inmates' most common approach to staying busy.

Hottest Moment: From chapel sex to hate sex, Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex's (Laura Prepon) on-again, off-again relationship is the most reliable source of hot moments.
The Affair
(2014-2019)

Why It's Sexy: Noah Solloway (Dominic West), a married father of four, walks into a Montauk restaurant and locks eyes with Alison Lockhart (Ruth Wilson), a waitress. The rest? Well, the rest is an extremely hot, emotionally destructive catastrophe, told through the perspectives of the two people involved in the affair (reminding us that perception is reality).

It's easy to understand why The Affair, the story of passion triumphing over responsibility and structure, is sexy. Rebecca Hendrix, a couples therapist, explained in Women's Health Magazine that "we crave passion, excitement, and the feeling of being desired. With The Affair, we don't have to act on the urge—we can live vicariously."

Hottest Moment: We see how both Alison and Noah remember their extremely acrobatic hotel sex.
Outlander
(2014-present)

Why It's Sexy: After WWII ends, Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) reunites with her husband (Tobias Menzies) for a second honeymoon to Scotland. Long story short, Claire touches some mystical rocks and ends up transported to the 18th century. To survive in this new, inhospitable climate, Claire marries a local, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).

Hottest Moment: Hands down, Claire and Jamie's wedding night.
Versailles
(2015-present)

Why It's Sexy: At the age of 28, King Louis XIV (George Blagden) decides to open up the ultimate bachelor pad: Versailles Palace. Much to his wife, Marie-Therese's (Elisa Lasowski), frustration, Louis lives like a bachelor and springs from woman to woman. The fellow palace-dwellers are thrilled to partake in Louis' debaucherous lifestyle, but are slow to realize that by living in the palace, they're trapped under Louis' manipulative thumb.

Hottest Moment: Versailles is more a relentless string of sex scenes than it is a TV show. Despite its oodles of x-rated scenes, the show hits peak sexiness with an orgy involving 14 women and 10 men. Stripping down those many layers of clothing must have been the ordeal of the century.

Let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel.
Before HBO and Netflix, you didn't have many options if you wanted to watch a no-holds-barred, graphic, sexy sex scene. But the age of streaming changed all that, and now not only can you watch literally any kind of sex scene you want, whenever you want, you can also catch some down-and-dirty sex on your favorite TV shows (Friends would never!). Sex is a normal, healthy, essential part of being a human in this world, and it's only right that some of the best TV shows out there reflect that.
On that note, here are the most hot, graphic, and in some cases groundbreaking sex scenes we've seen on the small screen. (If you're looking for scenes that venture more towards "romantic and passionate" territory, check out our roundup of those kind of sex scenes. Oh, and if you're looking for just Game of Thrones sex scenes, you bet we've got those too.)

Hulu's adaptation of Celeste Ng's novel Little Fires Everywhere had plenty of sexiness, but fans were particularly floored by a scene between Tiffany Boone (playing a younger version of Kerry Washington's character, Mia) and Anika Noni Rose (playing Pauline Hawthorne, a professor who becomes Mia's mentor). The actresses involved are clearly crazy hot, but the set-up added a layer of drama that took the can't-not-watch factor to the next level. In the scene, Boone's Mia is pregnant—with Pauline's child, which she is carrying as a surrogate for Pauline and her husband.
"It’s a very complicated thing, because there is a maternal element there," Boone told Oprah Mag of the relationship. "Mia, she had such a fraught relationship with her mother—she never felt truly seen. Then she meets Pauline, someone who really sees her, understands her, supports these decisions that she’s making. This relationship that she’s been looking for with her mother is suddenly there with Pauline."
Way back in Season 1, Insecure established that things were going to be hot AF with the memorable hookup between Issa and her high school boyfriend, Daniel (while she was still seeing Lawrence). Insecure is obviously hilarious, but star and creator Issa Rae takes prep for TV sex *very* seriously.
"I prepare just as I would for real sex," Rae told Coveteur. "It might be TMI, but I just want to make sure that I’m presentable in all areas. I want to make sure that I smell great, and I also want to make that if my partner doesn’t smell great, that I smell good enough for the both of us. But thankfully that’s never happened."
You can't make a show about Catherine the Great without sex. Or, I guess you could, but why even bother, you know? In Hulu's The Great, Elle Fanning has a lot of sexy scenes with not one, but two hot leading men, Nicholas Hoult, who plays her husband, Peter III of Russia, and Sebastian de Souza, who plays her lover, Leo Voronsky. Unsurprisingly, the scenes with Leo are the hot ones.
"You know, sex is a big part of our show," Fanning told EW of working on the sex-heavy series. "And we wanted to make sure everyone's comfortable. We had an intimacy coordinator that was on set whenever we had those scenes, to make everyone feel good and make everything look real. And I had never worked with anyone like that before, but that was nice to have. And of course, I think sex is also a real big part of the real Catherine the Great's life. She was notoriously kind of beyond her time in that way. She was very open and free and loved sex, so that's obviously something that I wanted to touch upon. You see the young Catherine on her first wedding night, and it's not exactly how she was expecting it to go. And she ultimately gets a lover in Leo, they have the sex that they have, which is more loving and passionate. The sex with Nick [Hoult] and the sex with Sebastian [de Souza] in the show is very different."
This BBC drama might be a little under-the-radar for American audiences (it aired in the UK in 2015 and hit Netflix in 2018), but it's worth seeking out for the hot encounters between Ben Whishaw's Danny and Scottie Edward Holcroft's Alex. When they finally consummate their romance, it's so hot you'll need a cold shower after watching it. And, it's worth noting, the extreme sexiness of the scene is actually the tame version.
"I guess it has been a talking point and it’s full of things that are provocative," series creator Tom Rob Smith told The Guardian of the response to the series. "I thought a gay love story might not be embraced by everyone, but I was really surprised that Danny and Alex’s sex scene in episode one shocked anyone. It was as mild as I could have made it."
There are plenty of steamy scenes between Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson in HBO's Run and the chemistry they bring to every encounter between their characters, Ruby and Billy, is honestly jaw-dropping. Even more jaw-dropping? The fact that the sexiness we see on the show is toned down.
"God, earlier drafts were so much worse!" creator Vicky Jones told Harper's Bazaar UK. “People at [the show’s network] HBO were like, ‘I think it could be dirtier’ and so I’d write it so filthy that [the producer] Jenny Robbins could barely look me in the eye afterwards. Everyone was horrified! We made the actors do the whole thing and it wasn’t sexy because it was too much. We cut a lot of it back because I lost my nerve. Seriously, people were like, 'That’s gonna go straight on YouPorn – just the words!'"

In Netflix's The Defenders, fans didn't have to wait long for a very steamy scene between Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Rosario
