It was about time "Beers, Steers and Queers" had a proper follow up. This thing easily rivals their debut "Big Sexyland" and blows the last two RevCo albums out of the water. With Ministry laid to rest, main misfit Alain Jourgensen has turned his attention to revitalizing the Revolting Cocks, which he has done handily. Without giving too much away, there's a lot of electronic influence on here that has not been present before. Add to this the usual Hypo Luxa penchant for utterly destroyed rock'n'roll with a generous dollop of the magnificent 80:s, there you have it.
"Sex-O Olympic-O" has anthems a plenty, the lyrics to some of the tunes on here go a little like this: "She's got style, she's got style... when she shakes her ass she's got class. Revco gonna get ya!" On track five, the magnificently titled "Dirty Little Secret", it gets pushed even further with the admonishment of "Keeping it in the family can be a great idea. Though at times, things can get a little tricky. 3am, your dirty little secret". The guitars are catchy, the beat infectious, and papa Al can almost be heard in the background howling in glee. Does it get any more inducing, check out track seven, "I'm Not Gay", which sounds like a pissed off PTP "It's good to be a homo in the lone star state, it's good to be a homo in the USA".
RevCo pack quite a punch on their fourth studio album. A lot of the classic Chicago Wax Trax era tricks are in evidence: the dissonant wailing guitars, the hard beats and linear basslines. And of course, Jourgensen's infamous down the well screaming. With the release of this album, Mr. Luxa had stated his intention to leave the band and franchise it out but he's had a change of heart it would seem. Strip clubs will never be the same...
