Σημείωση: Η κριτική που ακολουθεί είναι στα κυπριακά.Την κυπριακή διάλεκτο συναντούμεν την συνήθως σε ποιήματα λαϊκών ποιητών, παραδοσιακά παραμύθκια, τραούδκια, ακόμα τζ̌αι σε διηγήματα τζ̌αι μυθιστορήματα (Οι γενιές της σιωπής) που διαδραματίζουνται όμως στην Κύπρο (συνήθως του παρελθόντος). Έτσι μόλις είδα τούντο βιβλίο την Κυριακή στο Cyprus Comic Con άρπαξα το δίχα δισταγμόν. Το να δκιαβάζεις κάτι της ποπ κουλτούρας στα κυπριακά εν κάτι το σπάνιο τζ̌αι κάτι το εντυπωσιακό. Επροσπάθησα το τζ̌αι γω τούτο, να εφαρμόσω την κυπριακή διάλεκτο σε κάτι που έν έσ̌ει καμία σχέση με τη Κύπρο. Διασκεύασα το σονέτο 130 του Σαίξπηρ, τζ̌αι το ποίημα του Τ. Σ. Έλιοτ The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and Other Poems στα κυπριακά. Μπόρετε να έβρετε το σονέτο 130 στη συλλογή μου Leaves of Poetry τζ̌αι το ποίημα του Τ. Σ. Έλιοτ σε τούντην συλλογή The Muses and Other PoemsΈσ̌ει που το 2011 που ετοιμάζω μνιαν κυπριακή μετάφραση ενός κλασσικού παραμυθκιού για μιτσιούς τζ̌αι μιάλους. - Ρε κουμπάρε παρέτα ν αυτοδιαφημίζεσαι τζ̌αι πε μας για τον Αστερίξ!- Πόμινε τζ̌αι φτάνω.Που έμεινα; Α, ναι. Ετοιμάζω ένα παραμύθι αλλά ακόμα το έναν τρίτον έκαμα, τζ̌αι μετά αν το τελειώσω εν τζ̌αι η διαδικασία έκδοσης. Τέλος πάντων, το να δκιαβάσω Αστερίξ στα κυπριακά ήτουν μνια υπέροχη εμπειρία. Εγέλασα πολλά πκιο εύκολα παρά να το δκιάβασα στα νέα ελληνικά. Έρκεσαι πκοιο κοντά με τους πρωταγωνιστές διότι όπως εν φυσικό δκιαβάζεις στην μητρική σου γλώσσα την γλώσσα π αναγιώθηκες. • Όταν φτάνουν στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά οι Γαλάτες έν τραγουδούσιν παραδοσιακό τραγούδι της Γαλατίας αλλά το Εσ̌ε έβερεβε-νανά-βαραβα-στρον τζια ε-βερε-ν μιτσίν (Τηλλυρκώτισσα)• Η ταπέλλα στο χάνι στην Αθήνα γράφει «Πίννε κρασί νάσεις ζωή» το μότο του Φεστιβάλ κρασιού στη Λεμεσό εδώ τζ̌αι 55 χρόνια. Πενήντα χρόνια πριν γεννηθεί ο Γριστός, οι Ρωμαίοι επκιάσαν πόλα σέλα την Γαλατίαν. Ούλλην; Οι ούλλην ! Εσει ένα χωρκούιν με Γαλάτες που εν θέλουν κανέναν πά στην ράσην τους, αντιστέκουνται τζαι δυσκολεύκουν τους Ρωμαίους που γλέπουν τα στρατόπεδα τους στο Παπαόρον, το Ακουάριον, το Λαφτανόν τζαι το Πετιπόνον...Με άλλα λόγια το βιβλίο τούτο παίρνει 5 αστερούθκια κάτι που ήμουν σίουρος πως ήταν να κάμω. Καθαρή εικόνα από αποσπάσματα του βιβλίου στο μπλογκ μου Κυπριακή Διάλεκτος.
