Post-ICO Analysis of LUNYR

Post-ICO Analysis of LUNYR

Tokenlunch

Description

Lunyr — is an encyclopedia based on Ethereum blockchain. Anyone can write a useful article and get remuneration for it. The project goal is to collect quality, proved information and contribute to its use for artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other modern developments.

General information

Project Ico was carried out in spring 2017, after that the project was under development about a year (even now upgrades are made). In 2018, we can suggest the closing stage of development and that the project is in the stage of launch, which makes it possible to use standard metrics to evaluate one or another business.

Social metrics

On January 30, 2018, the project beta version was launched (the stage of open testing where anyone can post their article and report developers on a possible problem). As of 05/31/18, the site traffic was 53K people per month, which is not enough for such a scale.

It’s important to mention that resource traffic doesn’t grow (after the January cryptocurrency peak):

Metrics on May 31, 2018:

Twitter

The number of twitter followers: 33499

Follower growth for the last month: TBA

Love rate for all time: 0,219, which is very low.

Love rate for the last month: TBA

Like dynamics:

It is seen that the dynamics of likes in last months coincides with cryptocurrency hype, but there is no like dynamics generated by the product.

Facebook

Number of FB followers: 1446

Follower growth for the last month: TBA

For encyclopedia theme, the project has very weak metrics, very low involvement and no growth dynamics.

Meeting road map

2017

Q1 — Crowdsale — fundraising ended on 04/29/18

Q2 — «Stardust» (content submission editor, basic peer review system for content and ads):

06/07/17 a post on the active work on closed alpha-version by invitation, but the delayed launch of the alpha version was posted

07/13/17 registration for testing alpha-version by invitation was opened

Q3 — «Celestial», alpha release on test network (base version of advertising system) — 09/1817 the product alpha version was released, but without promised advertising system. It was moved to Q4 2017.

Q4 — «Interstellar», beta release on test network (basic system of dispute and resolution) — 12/01/17 the base version of advertising system was launched.

2018

Q1 — «Supernova», beta release on main net — launched on 01/30/18

Q2 — «Nebula», algorithm improvement for peer review

On March 28 a decentralized app for Mac OS and Linux (doubles web version functionality) was launched, a little after promised release for Windows users was launched. The app for Android also available in Google Play, and, according to developers, version for iOS users is now on verification in App Store and will become available day after day. For developers public API with a minimum set of functions is available.

On May 7, Chinese and Spanish languages were added into the project and now the possibility of switching between them appeared in the interface, as well as the function allowing filtering articles by language principle.

Roadmap is observed with insignificant deviations the developers in advance warn in social networks about. Report on done work appears from 1 to 3 times a month.

Github analysis

The open repository for developers has no information on updates – the last commit was made on November 17, 2017 and now there’s a message there  "Lunyr platform code is currently in a private repo and will be made public after the Galaxy Release". In other words, we see that the work on some instruments is being done, but we don’t see what exactly. The editorial staff of our project has already requested access to the closed repository to get more detail information on the speed of project realization and the depth of its development.

Nonetheless, based on the last releases it’s obvious that the project developers are working on their product.

The number of transactions regularly made inside the network is at the level of $600-700K per day, which is a little higher than the average value for projects with similar capitalization.

Real use of the project

Today about 1 article is written per day, and the last changes in the articles were made a month ago and 2 months ago, notably they were edited all at once, there’s no a hint of user generated content, which implies constant involvement of main participants in the work with the encyclopedia.

Almost a half of last 30 articles are copying from Wikipedia. Almost all biographies are taken from Wikipedia. What’s the reason? Just to fill the content?

From top 10 participants all 10 wrote or voted for articles more than a month ago (more precisely, 2 months ago and 4 months ago), which makes it possible to conclude the lack of community’s interest in the project development.

The project almost isn’t used by people: 1 of 10

Final metrics

Real use of the project — 1 of 10 / Social metrics — 3 of 10

Roadmap maintenance — 7 of 10 / Updates on GitHub — 0 of 10

The final evaluation of Lunyr potential: 3 of 10

What does cost $30M? The opportunity to connect cryptocurrency payments to Wikipedia?
