Philanthor: Making the world a better place with Blockchain and Smart Technologies

Hypervira

The emergence of the philanthropy community paved a way for so many people who wish to reach out in their own little ways to help make the world a better place for all, and most especially to the ones who are currently and badly in need.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, was once quoted saying “You want to be the pebble in the pond that creates the ripple for change”. Situations and causes create so many “ponds” that pave an opportunity for many us to become that pebble. But with the current platforms of offering philanthropists a community to settle with, many are afraid their efforts might go in vain.

The lack of transparency and whether or not help can reach recipients are just few of the so many worries many philanthropists doubt before engaging with such communities. Others even induce huge fees and make the overall payment higher than it is which could possibly lessen the total amount to be received by the recipients. Another problem is also about finding a legit cause.

With Philanthor, a great community for Philanthropists, the team behind it will now combine ideas from its members collectively to create real and timely solutions for the good of all and for the next generation to come.

Philanthor is a Blockchain-based Philanthropy foundation that collects ideas and knowledge from its community to solve real-life problems and help different causes. Philanthropy is different from charity as it aims to solve a problem down to its root cause, while charity relieves pain coming out from a social problem. With the aim in mind to help create a better tomorrow, including for the next generations to come, Philanthor was made to spread causes and issues that aren’t popularly known but need attention from government and the general public.

Being backed by some Blockchain technologies, it eliminates the need for intermediary entities such as banks to govern every transactions thus cutting down transaction fees. It also allows transparency to all transactions done within the platform, decision-making is now made automated and faster and by being governed by smart contracts ensures unbiased judgments and transactions. Lastly, because the Blockchain is tamper-proof, all transactions will remain recorded and unchanged thus allowing an easy retrieval of information that will help determine the amount of impact the Philanthor community have made to the world.

The Philanthor Ecosystem

Philanthor’s ecosystem is tokenized, the adaption of such allows lesser transaction fees thus ensuring that the amount that will reach the different causes will be at its possible maximum value. The token of the ecosystem is known as the PTH token which can be earned by donating funds for the platform. A donor automatically becomes a member of the community and has the ability to provide his or her own preferences in what types of causes he or she wishes to support. So basically, Philanthor is being ruled by its members and their chosen causes and each cause will be evaluated using Philanthor’s AI and machine learning capabilities.

Members will be creating profiles and will be asked to indicate what type of causes he or she would like to support. Geography, Demography and Causes are just few of the categories of causes a member could choose and if his or her own chosen type is not available, making one can also be suggested to the team. The insights and analytics dashboard allows an easy one-page view of a certain project’s funding, impact value and movement of funds.

Usage of PH Tokens

The PTH tokens will not only be used to send donations and assistance, PTH tokens will also give benefits to its members. Token holders are eligible to give their own favored causes and contribute ways to address concerns and issues.

Based on the token flow from the image above, private donors who donate funds to the platform will receive PTH tokens in return. Donors will also have the power to donate it back to Philanthor and allot it preferred type of cause. PTH tokens received by donors and CSR donors can also be used to buy goods and services.

The Philanthor Technology

Screening Out Causes

To help keep causes coming in at faster rate but of great value, the screening process of causes will involve both human-driven decisions as well as an AI-assisted decision making process. An individual or an organization seeking aid will have to go through a KYC process and an AI-aided video analytics that sorts causes according to its best category.

The AI and machine learning capabilities will then process whether a received cause is aligned with the community’s preference. And to ensure that this will be strictly followed, this process is being governed by smart contracts. The successful shortlisted causes will then be laid on the tables of the human committee and will be again subjected for approval.

These technological efforts done by the team behind Philanthor hope to revolutionize the existing philanthropy community and make all transactions as transparent as possible while maintaining the efficiency of the overall ecosystem.
