I believe thats what its called, anoter DMT containing grass, takes about 6 months from seed but has high DMT concentrations. After the first harvest though, its feasable that you could get 1 harves per week becase you only harvest the leaves and they regrow very quickly. As for psychotria viridis, i have read its great for extractions and has lots of dmt, but it would take a lot longer id imagine. Probably harder to grow too, phalaris grass can survive droughts, floods, extreme cold weather, and more. Id personally pick phalaris. Ignore the fact that it contains gramine because if you use naptha as your solvent for extraction, gramine and bufotenine arent soluble in naptha, so you will get dmt and 5-meo-dmt. If you put these in acetone and add citric acid, you will get dmt citrate and 5-meo-dmt citrate. Take the remaining acetone and evap in a different dish, and you have dmt citrate. Convert this back to freebase using sodium bicarbonate and presto, DMT! It sounds like a lot of work but it really isnt. Some people like keeping the dmt and 5-meo-dmt together, its your opinion that matters. As far as im concerned brachystachys has more, or so ive read. I believe the main alkaloid in aquatica is 5-meo-DMT, which is a problem because it requires very small doses compared to DMT. The main alkaloid in brachystachys is DMT so ive heard. And to get it in crystal form, do the following. This will be a brief walkthrough. When they are solid, take them up and blend them while they are frozen so your blender doesnt get covered in sludge. Look up extraction teks, they will tell you amounts, id say about grams probably. Make sure they dissolve well, then cap and shake. Leave it sitting for a day or two, shaking occasionally. This will get most of the alkaloids in the water. Cap the jug and dont shake, but just turn it upside down slowly, rotate it around and around. The naptha will dissolve the alkaloids you want. However, it will also pick up a lot of impurities, which leads to the next step. Just try jot to get any water in. Put it into a seperate container and stick in the freezer. The longer the better. When naptha gets very cold, it can no longer dissolve the dmt, causing it to crystalize along with the 5-meo-DMT. The naptha can be boiled then recondensed in a seperate container to get pure naptha again, which can be reused. The crystals probably wont be too huge, but lots of smaller ones. If you really desire, the crystals can be redissolved and then left in a small container to slowly evaporate. This will produce much bigger crystals. Freeze precipitation is a preferred method for initial extraction especially when working with phalaris or other leafy materials because it removes most of the impurities, whereas evaporation will leave you with all the excess gunk the naptha dissolves from the water solution. Also, the naptha can be reused. This tube leads to another container that is sitting in an ice bath. As the naptha evaporates, it travels through the tube into the second container and recondenses there because of how cold the second container will be. I am personally working with phalaris arundinacea, i just planted a bunch in a windowsill potter yesterday. The thing about phalaris is, alkaloid levels can be greatly increased by stressing. Look up stressing phalaris grass and find stuff about clipping. Clipping is really simple and is a great way to increase alkaloid levels. Im also trying feeding my grass tryptophan, a precursor to DMT. It is unknown if this works or not, but if it does work then ill just have even more DMT in the end so i dont care, its a win for me. There is going to be tons of chlorophyll and other oils pulled into your naphtha layer. This will result in a huge mess trying to get anything crystalline out of it. As for Aquatica vs Brachystachys, the only problem with aquatica is that the main alkaloid in aquatica is 5-meo-DMT. Just take the 5-meo-DMT citrate crystals that form out of the acetone, then evap the acetone and your left with DMT citrate, which can be converted back into freebase. I have the shortest end of the stick. Phalaris Arundinacea is not a great source for DMT, and im going to have to order some Brachystachys seeds.
