SUNDAY MESSAGE @ DAG

Theme: The Christian Life: A Life In The Supernatural And Not In The Natural Part 3

Texts: Habakkuk 2: 4, 2 Corinthians 5 : 7

Review/ Introduction:

[ ] The Life we live here on earth is in two dimensions; The Natural and The Supernatural

[ ] The Christian Life we live has two dimensions; The Natural and The Supernatural

• Nevertheless it is The Christian Life lived in the Supernatural that produces results/ that produces fruits/ that attracts the blessings of God

• Supernatural living is a life of FAITH; ie Living by Faith ie serving God by who he is/ by what he can do/ living by the word/ living by the Holy Spirit

[ ] T/S This message has been looking at People who served God Supernaturally and the lesson we learn from them.

[ ] We begun with Abraham

• Genesis 22 When God demanded ISSAC , the only Son promised to Abraham? Great Lessons here

1. God was testing the position of Abrahams faith/ heart

2. God wanted to be sure where Abrahams faith / heart was

• Whether in the promise or in him the promised maker and fulfiller

• Whether Abrahams heart was in the gift or in the giver

• Whether Abrahams heart was in the thing or in the provider of the thing.

[ ] Anytime God is demanding anything from you, he is actually testing where your heart is or what kind of life are you living with him, whether Natural or Supernatural

[ ] God is a jealous God who hates to share glory with anyone.

III. The Widow of Zarephath And The Supernatural= 1 Kings 17 : 8 - 24.

[ ] Elijah was directed to her by God v 7 - 9 but the widow did not know

[ ] Elijah met her at the outskirts of the town gathering firewood v 10

[ ] Elijah spoke Supernatural to demand her water and food

• She was willing to give water

• But her last meal became a great test.

• She might have said to Elijah " Are you really sure you are a true and Discerning prophet ? You should have known my present condition and circumstance "

• She responded in the Natural/ Reality v 12

• Elijah inspired/ encouraged her with the supernatural v 13

• She believed and acted on the Supernatural

• = Result = She never saw lack / scarcity/ shortage and poverty again in her entire life

[ ] Application:

• Obedience to a Supernatural instruction changes your REALMS for Good

• Consistent Obedience to the Supernatural instructions ( the word ) in the area of giving, paying of tithes, supporting men / women of God breaks the yoke of poverty forever in your life.

[ ] Lessons: Even in our Giving to God, some give Naturally ie according to what they have or are earning eg As Paul said in 2 Corinthians 9: 7

• = Note that Paul did not condemned PURPOSED GIVING but the truth is most PURPOSED GIVING is NATURAL LEVEL ie according to what is available/ giving what we can now so that we can manage the rest

[ ] Lesson 2. Some also give Supernaturally eg

• This widow above

• The Macedonia church; 2 Corinthians 8 : 2

• The widow who gave her mite = Mark 12 : 41 - 44/ Luke 21: 1 - 4

[ ] IMPORTANT LESSON/ PRINCIPLE

• Always learn to give out / sow your LAST & BEST TO GOD and wait for the harvest = You will never lack

• Give out your LAST & BEST as a SEED TO GOD; through an offering/ Special seed/ Altar/ church project/ to an individual in the church/ to the Pastor etc and leave the consequences to God

• S. I ( Sanctified Imagination )= the brother who picked this principle from me

IV. The indebted Prophets widow whose Oil was Increased = 2 Kings 4 : 1 - 8

[ ] Her husband was one of the student Prophets of Elijah and probably a mate to Elisha

[ ] Her husband died with a debt

[ ] The creditor was coming for the two sons

[ ] She run to Elisha the Prophet

[ ] The Prophet asked " how can I help you "

• The Prophet spoke Supernaturally " what do you have in your house "? V 2

• The widow responded in the Natural ie the reality that she sees around her v 2b " there is nothing except a little jar or pot of oil "

• The Prophet spoke again in the Supernatural V 3 " Go and borrow containers and pour that little oil in it ...."

[ ] Lessons:

• Our main problem as Christians is that we settle too soon with the Natural

• We are limited by the Natural " YOUR SERVANT HAS NOTHING IN THE HOUSE EXCEPT A LITTLE OIL "

• THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING IN THE LITTLE IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE LITTLE

• To the Supernatural , that LITTLE OIL was just enough to work out something if only we truly trust God and His ABILITY

• = LEARN TO GIVE OUT/ SOW THE LITTLE TO GOD

• = LEARN TO PRESENT THE LITTLE TO GOD

[ ] 1 Kings 18 : 43 & 44

• Elijah's Servant said THERE IS NOTHING THERE V43

• Then he saw A LITTLE CLOUD.....

• Then Elijah spoke Supernaturally v44 TELL AHAB TO RUN BEFORE THE RAINS CATCHES UP WITH HIM

[ ] Speak the Supernatural

[ ] Imagine/ think the Supernatural

[ ] Walk in the Supernatural

[ ] Act in the Supernatural

• He valued his dream/ Destiny

XIII. The who Poured The Alabaster box of Expensive Perfume on Jesus = Matthew 26 : 6 - 13 / John 12 : 1 - 8

[ ] What moved this woman to do this ? Her faith in the Supernatural

[ ] It was the most expensive perfume

[ ] It cost one year wages

• Until the perfume was broken it retained its fragrance

• The fragrance touched Jesus Christ

• This became a memorial

[ ] The reaction of the disciples

[ ] = There Are three kinds of People in the Pews

• Those who are only moved by the needs of the Pastor

• Those only moved by the needs of the church

• Those moved by both.

CONCLUSION/ PROPHETIC/ PRAYER:

[ ] Holy Spirit give me the heart and mind for the Supernatural / Ezekiel 36 : 26/ 1 Samuel 10 : 9

[ ] Holy Spirit give me the attitude for the Supernatural .
