Nueva serie de “Vertigo” y tras las ultimas decepciones y falta de sintonía que he tenido con el sello en cuestión, por fin doy con un cómic que me gusta, me llama la atención y me parece recomendable como para darle una entrada. Para empezar, es en blanco y negro, lo cual siempre llama la atención y no es algo a lo que yo este muy acostumbrado al no ser muy fan del manga. Pero tampoco pongo objeciones a priori, después de leer 100 números de Walking Dead.“Punk Rock Jesus” nos presenta a un niño del Ulster llamado Thomas que ve a su familia masacrada por la policía inglesa que él como único superviviente y rescatado por su tío para acabar creciendo como militante del IRA, con algunos atentados que costaron la vida a un niña. Unos años mas tarde, en 2019, Thomas ya redimido, es el jefe de seguridad de un proyecto de cierta empresa. El proyecto de esta empresa es ni mas ni menos que hacer nacer en la navidad de 2019 y en riguroso directo, al primer clon humano y que este sea ni mas ni menos que un clon de Jesucristo creado a partir del ADN de la sabana santa. Todo ello a modo de reality show y con el añadido de, tras un exhaustivo casting, encontrar una chica virgen a la que implantar el embrión de J2 que es el nombre comercial del nuevo Jesucristo.Eso vemos en este primer número, bueno eso y mas que no voy a contar, pero que me ha gustado mucho como acaba. Conocemos a Thomas que es mas o menos un Punisher, en tamaño y formas, a la nueva virgen María, a la genetista responsable del proyecto y conocemos las maneras de la corporación, de la televisión, del publico, de las religiones, etc..Me ha gustado mucho, es muy muy disfrutable, aunque empieza escrito con acento irlandés, pero enseguida pasa a inglés normal. El dibujo (e historia) de Sean Murphy me ha parecido la repera y ese blanco y negro le pega un toque ciberpunk si se quiere (o si se me va el pan a mi) que casa muy bien con la historia. Me gusta el enfoque de la historia, me parece original y curioso y me gusta el giro final que da una vuelta de tuerca al asunto. Serán 6 números y yo me apunto a todos.
