Book description
This book is a history and genealogy of the Ryerson family. It traces the origins of this American & Canadian family to Holland in 1574, with the birth of Reijer. From Holland we follow the family to New York City in 1646. The story remains in the US until the American Revolution, when two brothers, Samuel & Joseph, flee to New Brunswick in 1783. The remainder of the book is the actual family, generation by generation, of these two men, up to 1994. There are several families who returned to the US in the 1830s. It is primarily Canadian in interest, but does focus on the early American roots of the family. The book has sold over 650 copies within the family.
