3.5 starsI really liked the artwork, but the first half of the story was pretty confusing for someone like me.I have a tenuous grasp on the Legion, and introducing a bunch of new kids didnt help me keep my grip.The part with the kids at the Academy felt an awful lot like an X-men title, what with all the confusing new characters constantly being introduced.I liked them, dont get me wrong, I just...I didnt know them?The second half of the story made more (slightly) sense, since there were actual adult Legionnaires that Id seen before featured in it. Although, I was really confused by Saturn Queen and her minions.For the majority of the book, I thought Saturn Girl and some of the original characters had turned evil, but then the Old Regulars all popped up and blew my theory to Hell.This isnt the fault of the author, I just dont know enough about this title or the characters, I guess.Theres a big war going on with a Blue Flame Guy that (I think?) is somehow connected to the Green Lanterns Guardians. And (Im assuming) Saturn Queen is some sort of evil twin/clone/alternate-world version of Saturn Girl, who has come into contact with said Blue Flame Guy.And (again, Im assuming) Blue Flame Guy wants to DESTROY THE WORLD!, because hes evil. And thats what evil Blue Flames do, for Gods sake!Anyhoo, Im not sure I understood what everything meant, but the second half was pretty entertaining.Side note:I gotta say, I get a little annoyed with all those friggin boxes that point out everyones Name, Planet of Origin, and Power. I get that theres a lot of these fuckers, and maybe its meant to help folks like me out...but enough already! I have to fight my instinct to read Every. Single. Word. on the page when I pick up one of these titles. If I gave in to my compulsion, Id STILL be reading this book right now!
